The Merchant Hotel is a wonderful place to stay! My wife and I stayed in three different hotels during a recent trip to Europe and I am not exaggerating in that The Merchant was our favorite hotel during the trip. The Merchant is a beautiful, historical hotel. Our room was spacious and terrific. The bed was quite comfortable! The staff is fantastic, friendly and very helpful. If you have a need, questions, etc. they will do their best to take care of it. The hostess, Kathryn, in the hotel's restaurant is a standout in a great staff. The restaurant is gorgeous as well as the bar next door and both serve great food. The hotel is within walking distance of the Titanic Quarter and Titanic Belfast museum. If my wife and I get the chance to return to Belfast we will certainly stay at The Merchant again!

Stayed for 4 nights in July. Very specious, stylish rooms; super-helpful, friendly staff; great breakfast; convenient location; fun bar scene - all over, an excellent choice. And they had air conditioning, which was quite needed!

Recently stayed here with my wife for her birthday, what can I say the whole experience from start to finish was simply 1st class. The service from all staff was the best we have ever experienced, shown to our room which again was 1st class bathroom excellent (what a bath) we stayed in Victorian Room. We dined in restaurant during our stay & once again 1st class service & food... keep repeating myself but it really was the best, enjoy its a must see!

Room Tip: Dont think you could go wrong in The Merchant Hotel...

We had a fantastic trip to Belfast and staying at The Merchant ensured this. We stayed in the Victorian rooms and they were beautiful. Our group had 5 rooms and they were all to the same high standard. The breakfast in the hotel was real treat as well. I looked forward to going down in the morning.
Another key part of the high standard of The Merchant were the staff. We felt we could ask them for guidance and advice on places to eat and things to do in Belfast!

Doesn't seem to matter with The Merchant - this hotel still shows the rest how to do customer service. They're not cheap, but if you want cheap go to Premier Inn or Quality Inn. The Merchant is still the best in Ireland and probably one of the best in the UK.

Room Tip: Spend a little extra and go for the art nouveau rooms.

This hotel is a bit pricey, but you get the most helpful service I have ever seen at a 5 star hotel. The rooms our party of 8 stayed in were in the newly renovated part and were absolutely gorgeous. Very spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. The hotel is very centrally located, close to everything a tourist wants to see with some great pubs close by. The restaurants associated to the hotel were also very nice and the Cloth Ear was very reasonably priced as well with dinner-for-two including a bottle of wine pricing. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at the merchant for our tenth wedding anniversary. This was our second stay and we had booked a suite for the occasion. On checking in we were greeted by Ciaran the concierge who was brilliant - showed us to our room - even gave us advice on where to buy swimming gear so we could avail of the hot tub! We stayed in the Macneice suite and it definitely has the wow factor. We didn't venture too far from the hotel eating in the Cloth Ear and having drinks in Berts and dancing in Ollies. All in all a fab night with great food and plenty of champagne. Breakfast the next morning in the Great Room was perfect. This hotel is so luxurious and it is the attention to detail by the wonderful staff that makes it so good.

Can't wait to return.
