Our train was too late for our connection. There was supposed to be ten minutes between them, but ours from over the border got in too late. We asked if there could be any refund, but they said it was Iarnrod Eiaran's fault! We had to wait about forever until the next train. Not so good.

“Leave my lid off, please!”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

They are really not good in the shop, I was dying for a cup of coffee. I asked if they could leave the lid off. They were not listening, and put the lid on it. I hope this is a one-off! They were good to me another day. The wee kiosk now sells coffee as well, if you buy a magazine or newspaper the tea is a pound.
The train conductors are very good, and most helpful. The toilets are not bad.
The information stand is excellent. It is always filled up with good information for anyone arriving and wanting to visit Belfast, or Dublin.

“It is a train station centrally located in Belfast”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

This location attracts a variety of trains departing from numbered platforms going to a selection of destinations by use of pre-set steel rail lines. Transport enthusiasts will be interested to note that the trains can travel in both directions on the same line, although not at the same time. I have given it average marks as although I have not yet seen a train get lost and end up in, say the bus station, neither have any of the trains been remarkable in any way, e.g. flying off the platform Harry Potter style, which is disappointing.

Pros: Plenty of trains
Cons: No guided tour option of the train station

I pass through this station relatively often, there is not much to it, but they have recently added a better shop and food area and the toilets are clean enough. The staff are mostly helpful and friendly and it is a good place to get your connecting trains. There are plenty of posters and info stands about sights in Belfast, so it is a good place to start your journey to explore local places.

This station is very big, but a little ordinary. You can eat at a cafe, and theres a shop with snacks and newspapers. There are toilets, also, and the train times appear up above on a big lit up board. At night the shops are closed. There are stands with all those tourist leaflets on, if you want to see things in the city. It can get cold waiting on the open air platforms down below, and there are never enough benches for people to sit on. The staff are good, and everywhere looks clean. They also have those mars bar machines if you're hungry at night. They have an escalator to bring people up from the platforms below, but you have to walk down stairs to get down to your train. Taxis and busses pull up outside on the street.
