This is a beautiful and undercherished part of Belfast. The walk along the Lagan is full of colour, beauty and wildlife - all within walking distance of most parts of the city. Belvoir is crisscrossed with plenty of walks. It has wonderful views and a great coffee / lunch stop in the Lockkeepers cottage. The seasons are wonderful here and there are plenty of photo opportunities. Some good parks for the children and some great activities such as kayaking at the weekends at Shaws Bridge. Also orienteering takes place frequently. Only drawbacks are speeding cyclists - which can be dangerous on narrow riverside paths. The area around Belvoir Motte also has lots of History which is under utilised. All in all however a beautiful day out
