“Most definitely worth a visit !”
Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

I was very happy to learn of this establishment as the menu looked full of promise and to be 'right up my street' when it comes to food. It certainly didn't disappoint.
LeCoop is one of these 'new age' restaurants that seems to be cutting back on expensive decor, seating and lighting and focusing its finances more on getting the food spot on. They offer chicken in all shapes and forms and some of the food and drink on offer is sublime! The cocktails and milkshakes sampled by my better half and I were superb, as were the buffalo wings and the delicious chilli corn bread, which I would have to say, was one of the nicest things I think I have ever had!!
All in all, this place gets a 'thumbs up' from me. It is in a great part in town and gets the most important thing right: the food. A few more tweaks and it would warrant a '5-star' rating from me...

“Go to KFC instead”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Can't recommend Le Coop and definitely won't be back. Menu sounded promising but fried chicken so salty we drank gallons of water the rest of the evening. New Orleans chicken wrap with shrimp was lacking in shrimp. Vanilla scented air was being wafted through the place - not a great mix with chicken. On the plus side - service was good. Younger crowd. Wish we'd looked a bit harder for nicer food. £50 for the pleasure of one starter, two main, one side and one bottle of red.

“Stuffed as chickens ”
Reviewed December 17, 2013 via mobile

Dined in Le Coop tonight for a friends birthday. The food and service were amazing! We ordered buffalo wings to start, would definitely recommend them. All of the group very pleased with their mains and yummy cocktails which were only £3! Great portion sizes and good selection of sides ( try the mac and cheese mmm). We left as 10 very happy stuffed chickens and will most definitely be back :)

“Could be good....”

LeCoop

I tried this 4 times before reviewing as it's new and needs to settle. Chicken as the name suggests - spit roast, fried or in a bun. On the last visit they have now introduced some chicken salads which had been a noticeable hole in the French/Canadian menu. Sad to say that the roast chicken (twice) was very dry. Once the fried chicken was perfect and once obviously refried and very dry... They serve the smallest mixer sized bottles of Coke as soft drinks for £2 which is ridiculous and greedy. On balance the Yardbird up the street is better, but shouldn't be with it's restricted menu. This has great potential but routinely misses the mark. Nice atmosphere young and funky with cheap cocktails too. Needs to sort extraction in the kitchen as it smells like a 1980's KFC.
