Description: Graze RestaurantAt GrazeOur approach is simple. We have a passion for flavour, quality ingredients, and for creating an atmosphere that is comfortable, affordable and a haven for people who simply love food and drink. Laid-back and down to earth, Graze is part neighbourhood eatery and part elegant bistro. Soft lighting and an unexpected quirkiness encourage guests to settle in, get comfortable, and have a great time.

“Pastures new to Graze”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

If you like Home, Avoca or Enigma food then you'll not want to miss out on Graze. Everything is made fresh by the very talented young chef John Moffatt and his staff. The front of house staff, led by Neil, were welcoming, warm and knowledgeable about the great menu and even better the prices won't hurt the pocket! This was my first visit and definitely won't be my last.

“Excellent addition to Ballyhackamore dining scene”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

We live locally and been eagerly waiting for the opening of the latest addition to Ballyhackamore's expanding restaurant scene. We already have a few favourites in the area but booked a table here for Saturday night - exactly one week after it opened its doors to the public. My partner was reluctant to go so soon and would have preferred to wait until any teething problems were ironed out with such a new venture- thankfully any concerns quickly disappeared when the food arrived.
We had a 8pm booking and the restaurant was quite busy- that said it took quite a while for us to be given menus and for a drinks order to be taken. Indeed we could see our glasses of wine on the bar and had to remind the waiting staff to bring them over. At this stage, we had feared that we would have to wait an inordinate amount of time to be served food but these fears were quickly allayed. So after a shaky start on the service front (for which the staff were very apologetic), Graze exceeded our expectations on both food and service from that point on. We shared some sourdough bread before our starters (due to our initial concerns on potential wait for food- which turned out to not be an issue). I had the salt & chilli squid to start which is served with a tasty Thai like dressing and slaw, whilst my partner had the goat cheese fritters with apple, beetroot and walnut brittle etc- both starters were excellent and well presented. We both opted for one of the seafood specials on offer that evening which was the scallops and butternut squash risotto with rocket and truffle oil- the risotto was cooked to perfection and the the scallops were fabulous. We were both quite full at this stage but decided to opt for dessert to try the full Graze offering - I had the spiced apple & blackberry crumble with custard and my partner had the white chocolate parfait which was served with yellow man and rhubarb. Both desserts were good and the crumble could be shared between two- the only criticism of the crumble was that it could have been done for slightly longer to brown the top a little more - but this was definitely nothing major. We had been out the night before and therefore were taking it easy on the drinks front - but look forward to exploring more of Graze's wine and cocktail menu in due course. We will definitely be back and will be spreading the word- also looking forward to checking out their Sunday sharing roasts. Also- the interior of the restaurant has been well finished and ambience good.Well done guys- very impressed.

“Praise for Graze”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

Excellent food for the price. Everything prepared from scratch on the premises. It was difficult to know what to choose from the menu, they were all superb. The staff are very attentive, and you are not rushed, it is a place to spend the whole evening if you want to. There is also an impressive array of wines and cocktails, plus a couple of super local beers. We will definitely go back again soon, a super-friendly gem.

“Great new pasture for dining in Belfast”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

For a restaurant which has opened barely over week, Graze looks certain to become a jewel in the blossoming food and drink scene in Ballyhackamore.

The food - both in terms of quality, breadth of choice on the menu and sourcing - is excellent. For carnivores and herbivores there's an excellent choice, and, crucially, for vegetarians there's much more than the usual carbonara without the meat on offer.

While the food is premium there's nothing stuffy about the staff or management. In a world of 'they want you in and out' restaurants - this seems a refreshing place where staff and even other diners enjoy a slow pace and actually take time to talk and get to know each other. We got chatting to the table next to us, who had similarly positive feedback on food.

I think there's also a cocktail menu (we had a glass of wine) which is excellent for larger groups or if you're planning a meal before a night out.

Congratulations to the management & staff - will definitely be back and spreading the word.
