Description: Hadskis has been borne out of one man’s love for making pots and pans, and another man’s love for cooking great food. Combining the two in one of Belfast’s most prominent entry’s Commercial Court, nestled between Hill St. And Donegall St. In the Cathedral Quarter you can find an eclectic little dining room with a great kitchen counter where you can taste an ever changing menu of daily specials alongside some classic European dishes. With a friendly welcome and efficient service our aim is to add to an already vibrant dining scene in the Cathedral Quarter and Belfast. Produce is locally sourced where possible and our wine list offers a great range of European wines by the glass and bottle, with an extensive spirits list. To keep up to date on our specials, follow us on twitter or Facebook; or even better, pop in. Our other restaurants are James Street South, The Bar & Grill at James Street South and Cast & Crew.

My partner and I were keen to try Hadskis, as a waiter at James Street South Bar and Grill had advertised it's opening after a meal there a few weeks ago. As we have always experienced excellent food and service there, we thought Hadskis was bound to be another fantastic restaurant. It was 16.50 and we didn't have a reservation, but they agreed to give us a table for 1hr 40m. The maitre d' was dressed a little too casually to convince me that the standard of this restaurant would be anything like the Bar & Grill, and as the night went on it turned out I was correct. We asked for some table water which was brought to us in two glasses, almost lukewarm with no ice. It took quite some time for the maitre d' to take our order and almost 30 minutes for the food to arrive, which was disappointing as we were one of only three couples dining. I ordered the rib eye steak with béarnaise sauce and truffle and parmasan fries. The fries were to die for, but the steak was very fatty and the béarnaise sauce was colder than it should be and it had a film on the top which suggested it had been sitting for a while. The menu we read online stated a whole chicken with lemon and garlic cost £13.50, but when we ordered it turned out this was a misprint and it should have read half-chicken, which was annoying. It was even more annoying that the waiter didn't apologise for this and laughed it off. It then took almost 15 minutes for him to take our plates away, leaving us feeling too pressured for time to have a desert. The underlying feeling throughout the night was that we were an inconvenience. The staff need to work on their interpersonal skills and take some advice on customer service. I won't be returning here in a hurry.

We dined in this new Belfast eatery last night and arrived with great expectations of fabulous meal. Sadly we left disappointed. The fixtures and fitting are as one would expect from Mr. McKenna - high quality and minimalistic. The menu is diverse and offers value for money however the food is let down by the slow service and whatever happens between the food being produced and plated until it gets to the table leaves it cold and unexciting. I am guessing that the food simply sits on the pass for too long. All six of us at the table can't be wrong - cold food. 3 rib eye,2 Ling and 1 gurnard all cold. My wife complained about her rib eye steak and it was taken away reheated and brought back which moved it from med to med well. It was however removed from the bill in the end. All that bright and shiny new kitchen kit needs to deliver consistently and the service requires investigation to iron out what I hope are teething problems. A long way to go to match JSS grill.

What a find!! Hadskis offers wonderfully healthy and tasty food in Belfast's Cathedral quarter. The service is extremely professional and friendly. We were so impressed, we went twice in one week! The food is of the highest standards and extremely fresh. All in all, excellent value for money and a refreshing addition to the vibrant scene of wonderful Belfast.

Went here for lunch with some friends, and had an absolutely delicious and decadent meal. I ordered one of the specials, a whole plaice with some crab on top. It came out beautifully presented, and tasted just as good! We ordered a few different sides for the table, and they were delicious as well: the green veg (cabbage and green beans) still had a lovely crunch, the champ was pure buttery goodness, and the lentils were a great addition as well. For dessert, I had the pie of the day which was apple (I had to do my patriotic American duty). It was spiced with some cinnamon and cloves, making it taste like autumn incarnate. Will hopefully be back here soon!
