“Impressive Hotel and facilities”
Reviewed August 19, 2008

A very nice and modern hotel, which is slightly away from the city centre, but more than made up for with it's great facilities.

The room I had was very spacious and well decorated, and had an impressive bathroom with underfloor heating. Internet access was available in the room and was easy to hook up to.

The bar area was sleek and modern, looking out over the water.

Overall the look and feel of the hotel was very stylish and the quality of the rooms and amenities were excellent

My husband and I have just returned from a holiday in Nothern Ireland. We stayed a few nights at Radisson SAS Hotel in Belfast. The hotel was magnificent and the service was impeccable. The hotel is situated in a very quiet part of town, but it took us just a few minutes to go to the city centre. The breakfast was excellent with a lot to choose between, the rooms were spacious and well equipped.

Just spent one Saturday night in this Hotel and my experiences were as follows:
Poor welcome on arrival, treated badly in that we were made wait 10 minutes whilst the room was checked to see if it was ready and felt the checkin procedure left allot to be desired.
Radisson Belfast is you normal SAS Radisson hotel, the finish on it isn't quite as good as most I've stayed in. The lift was nosy and slightly jittery, although there was a nice view as you ascended.
The room was good and bathroom large with all normal facilities. Overall we had a good stay but it could have been better. The Hotel really isn't in a great area for shopping or getting around the city centre, luckily taxis are cheap (about £3) so you can get to and from the hotel without much trouble. Walking it really wasn't an option...

Have stayed here 3 times, and I really like this hotel. It's a convenient walk to the city (less than 10 minutes). The rooms are spacious and decorated nicely. (One trip we had a campbed in the room and there was plenty of room, and the campbed was very comfortable!). Nice toiletries, good selection in mini bar. The breakfast is nice, although they can be a bit slow to replenish at peak times. Has lovely cocktails in the bar. The bar isn't that lively, but I'm not a big fan of hotel bars.

Stayed here for one night on business and was very happy. Plush, comfortably rooms with all amenities required (iron, trouser press, laundry, tea/coffee, tv, plenty of desk space), great power shower, good lighting, fast and efficient check-in/out, internet access, minutes to the city, set on the river so nice for dinner in the evening - the Finini restaurant was very good.

Yes, I will stay here again when back on business in Belfast.

  • Liked — Its newness
  • Disliked — Set on a business park so not picturesque but not really an issue

Very good hotel, location wise only 5-10 minute walk into town, also a short walk to the new victoria shopping centre! A very modern hotel, Rooms clean and breakfast excellent with a good choice of hot and cold food, pastries fruit etc think i tried a bit of everything! we were given this as a present from our children for chritmas booked on ebay as a special deal, worth checking out as you save nearly half the price! Recommend you hire a car as we did and in 2 days did over 500 miles driving, do the coastal route to the giants causeway, the scenery is out of this world! go and enjoy you wont be dissapointed

We booked the Radisson SAS as a last minute job as, we initially booked the travel lodge. The travel lodge was not an ideal choice for us first off, I have stayed in them plenty of times and don't like them. We booked the travel lodge as there was nowhere else to stay. It was the Easter weekend after all.

We were all set for the travel lodge when we contacted them about maybe having a early check in, which they could'nt do, which was OK. We then asked if we had somehwere to leave our bags for the monring before we checked in and also somewhere where we could leave or stuff for the afternoon. They told us it would be £10 per room. We were nott happy with this so we looked elsewhere.

We could not find any other hotel apart from the Hitlton and the Radisson. I could'nt afford the Hilton so the Radisson it was. I would have much prefered to find a quite bed and breakfast or a small hotel chain to feel much more at home.

The Radisson was around £100 for a double per night. I have stayed in hotels accross Europe for half the price and felt more at home. OK the place was clean and have everything you really needed, but it just felt like the travel lodge with a little bit extra.

The hotel foyet and bar looked very nice, there was seating in the reception area which looked cosy and a little different from what you expected. There was 1 computer at reception for free internet.

Another thing to note, which we were'nt told about was the fact you had to pay £50 per night deposit for use of the mini bar, I definatly wouldnt use the mini bar so told them we won't be doing so. We booked the room on the internet using parents credit card as neither of us carry credit cards, just debit cards. We intended to pay by cash and told them so when we booked. They wanted us to pay the deposit for the mini bar before hand , which we told them we don't have the money to (It would be coming out of our spends)! So they said they would take the mini bar out of our room, which we were happy for them to do so. In the end they didnt do it?!

Our room was clean, had what we needed. A room over our head after ecploring Belfast for the first time. We didnt really spend much time there. The bathroom was clean and did its job. there were a few door handles hanging loose, the carpet was a bit scruff looking. I would have maybe liked a bit more from the hotel seeing as I paid, in my opinion quite a large sum for the room. It didnt inlude breakfast which is another story!

We were set for our day trip to Giants Causeway (which was great!) on the saturday. We woke up early to go to breakfast, which we knew we hadnt paid for, when we asked how much we were told it would be £15 each for a cooked buffet breakfast.

There was lots of choice, andd you could go back as many times as you wanted, but the place was empty, and for a saturday morning on Easter weekend I would have maybe thought I would see at least a few more heads down there, We were the only ones having breakfast. I had to opt for having breakfast there as the bus was to pick us up at 930. We couldn't go anywhere else for breakfast as the nearest Cafe/Restaurant was 15 mins walk away.

Its's a bit secluded as well. I would like to have seen a few more place situated near the place, there was only a bank!

I don't think I would recommend staying at this place. Its very overpriced.

  • Liked — Reception area was impressive
  • Disliked — Overpriced, slightly better tahn travel lodge!
