“I concur -- a very good choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2007

We stayed at the Belfast Radisson SAS for the first night of a marathon drive around the entire island. It was a great place to spend a quiet night recovering from the overnight flight across the Atlantic. It was close to the city center, but far enough away that it was very quiet. The rooms themselves were modern and clean (although I found one errant hair in the bathtub when we arrived).

After spending some time in downtown Belfast, we headed back to the hotel for room service dinner and a long, much-needed, and very sound sleep. The room service breakfast was delicious, too. Checkout was easy, and parking was free.

Check in started at 2 p.m., and they wouldn't let us check in earlier at 11 a.m. when we arrived. This is the first time that's happened to me after an international flight, but to be fair that is their policy. (Other places in the past have made allowances for me.)

Just back from a two night bed and breakfast and one evening meal type deal. The only problem encountered was the "check in" as we were allocated a smoking twin room despite booking a non smoking double. This was quickly and efficiently corrected by Rory, one of the local reception staff.

The room was clean and spacious enough and had all the necessary bits and bobs that you'd expect from a 4 star hotel.

The restaurant is italian therefore it it a huge advantage if you are both familar with and like this particular cuisine. If you aren't and don't then the restaurant could be a problem. Fortunately we both enjoyed the meal and the service was excellent.

The bar area is quiet and well managed with friendly staff although at £3 a pint (minimum) and £5.25 for a medium sized glass of chardonay, it is a tad expensive for the experience.

The location as stated in many reviews is about 10mins from Royal Avenue (shops) and about 15 mins from the Dublin Road (night life). It is also a good base if you wanted to explore the surrounding Belfast areas.

All in all it was a very good experience and I would have absolutely no fear in recommending it to any of my friends. The staff (especially Rory) were very helpful and I look forward to the next time I stay there.

This was our second wedding anniversary and we stayed for one night July 21st. I had a choice of rooms for the same price on the website so got the wheelchair friendly one for 90 pounds including breakfast. The room was lovely and spacious and very tastefully decorated. This is a new hotel and it looks new too! Breakfast though typically lacking in atmosphere on the Sunday morning was excellent. Location is in the city centre but in a business campus. Nonetheless there was a lovely view of Belfast from our window. One negative though and that was my wife's earrings went missing i.e were left on the sink - they vanished even though my wife rang later that evening. The lack of interest in trying to find them was most disappointing. We established that no-one stayed in the room on Sunday but still the earrings were gone. I hope they look nice on the person who "found" them because they most certainly did not vanish!!

  • Liked — The decor in the room
  • Disliked — The handling of my wife's missing earrings!

The hotel is built in a new development with nice and clean surrounding. We had Business Class room and it was spotless - very good size and I was really happy that was so clean. I loved the duvet - couldn't get out of bed in the morning.
Because the hotel was kind of away from city center and main traffic it was very quite and relaxing.
The restaurant was excellent - the chairs in the bar are uncomfortable so better sit on the couches.
The only negative thing was the location - wasn't too far from the city center, however the walk was awkward - different development buildings were with fences cutting the direction so that you have to go round and round!!! A bit of nonsense really!
Knowing all that, we will definitely stay at Radisson again!

Chose to stay here after reading the reviews and weren't dissapointed. Great location , very pleasant quiet area and only a short walk to the centre. Helpful reception staff. Room large and contemporary. Restaurant closed on Sunday evening, only bar snacks available. Good breakfast.

Booked one night at short notice, opted for a 'Business Class' Room. Overall very poor stay. First Impressions of the lobby where good - well funished and looked quite decent. The good impression ended there.

2nd Floor corridor carpet filthy, although the hotel is only a few years old, the carpets look so worn and shabby, as for the 'Business Class' Room - the color scheme was cold - pale blue walls, pale wood, glass slidrobes, and a very standard hotel bathroom that could have been as at home in any hotel built in the last 30 years. Still trying to see where the value in the upgrade was. Thankfully the room was so generic that i'll have no problem forgeting it. Despit the reservation having been for 2 people there was a single complementary bottle of water and one apple as a part of our 'value' for the upgrade premium.

Interestingly our bathroom door lock decided to periodically lock itself - this delayed us in going for dinner on the first night by 30mins, as the hotel was very slow to respond.

When we came back to the hotel in the evening, we began to notice the main gripe I have about the room - It's right above the front door of the hotel, so we got the pleaseure of hearing every taxi that pulled up, and evey thing that was happing outside. That and the stag party in the room next to ours made for possibly the worst nights sleep I have had on a hotel for years.

Our experience with room service the next morning was equally as dissapointing. 1st Vist from room service there where none of the hot items that where delivered. 2nd attempt one persons order was there, the 2nd was absent. We didn't bother waiting for a thrid as some 20mins had now elapsed and things where starting to go cold...

I was offered the option to speak with a manager on departing, however i declined. I had already had much to much non productive interaction with staff in this hotel for one night.

There are better options in belfast.

My partner and i stayed here last weekend for two nights. The hotel is very modern and the rooms were very spacious and spotlessly clean. There is a lovely bar in the hotel and the building itself is in a very quiet location only 10 minutes walk from the city centre. We especially thought the 24 hour pizza delivery is a superb idea and took advantage of this both nights! We had a fab time in Belfast and ate in two fantastic restaurants, Shu and Mourne Seafood, which i would highly recommend. The people of Belfast are so friendly and couldnt do enough for us and we will definitely be back again for a visit soon!
