I went to Slim's Kitchen on a recommendation. At 6:30pm on a Friday evening, we had to queue for around ten minutes before we got a table although there seemed to be more and more people coming behind us. It's the first time I'd been to a restaurant which was so centred around eating healthy so I wasn't sure what to expect.
Firstly, the service was exceptional. Remarkably efficient, which is necessary when there is such a long queue for a table.
I had the steak with chimichurri sauce. The steak itself was very tasty and filling although I wasn't as keen on the sauce. That said, there were other options. The sweet potato side dish was quite unusual but delicious nonetheless.
The dessert and drinks menu is quite unique, with most desserts coming in the form of frozen yoghurt. I had the banoffee frozen yoghurt, which although quite tasty, isn't quite the unhealthy real thing. Also on offer were a selection of protein shakes and creatine etc. Not my thing at all but I know a lot of people who do take them, so fair enough.
Cost wise, for a steak main course + side, frozen yoghurt dessert and a coffee (no other drinks - doesn't appear to be licensed), it worked out at around £13 per person, which for the Lisburn Road and for a decent steak, in my opinion, is very good value.
Main piece of advice: Get down early otherwise you could be standing in the street for quite a while.
