Having spent many a summer in america i have a soft spot for a tasty pizza. Belfast doesnt have much to offer in this regard with the odd exception. I have to say Giacomo's will be my go to place for a pizza most Friday nights now. Ordered a pepperoni pizza (my favourite) to go and after getting it home my and the flatmates devoured it pretty quickly. Wasn't sure if it was the weekend hunger of just good pizza but had to check again so sat in a few days later for a proper meal.
The place was pretty busy (a group of canadian firemen were in apparently) but the waitresses seemed to be in control and took my order pretty quickly. Got the creole queen as the toppings (smoked bacon, onion, shrimp and chorizo sausage) tempted my tastebuds - cant believe i just said that. They used cajun sauce as a base and although i'm a bit of a traditionalist in this regard i have to say i was pleasantly surprised. Shared a cheesecake after and it was absolutely delicious. All in all i cant rate this place highly enough. The dough seems so fresh and although not like the american style pizzas it definitely ticks all the boxes.
