“The best Eggs Benedict in Town.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

I am a regular in Chopin mainly for the excellent Eggs Benedict. Having said that the ribs are outstanding as are the chocolate brownies with raspberries. Having enjoyed eating here for every meal of the day I can confirm it really is worth a visit.

“Chopin Not So Grand Cafe”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

My friends and I having read the reviews on Trip Advisor (all mostly excellent) about Chopin decided to book a table for Friday night at 7.30pm.We had a friend visiting from Australia who we hadn't seen in 20 yrs & were looking forward to catching up whilst having a bite to eat & a few glasses of wine. The BYO option & the location made Chopin a suitable choice BUT to our disappointment this wasn't to be. On arriving at 7.30 the staff didn't seem to have a notion about our reservation. As we stood waiting they came back to inform us they were waiting for another party to leave the table before we could be seated & 'told' us to go to the hotel next door to have a drink while we waited & they would come to get us when the table was cleared. So we ventured off thinking it would only be a 20minute wait, time went on... it was 8.30 & there was still no sign of anyone coming to get us.We therefore went back to the restaurant at 8.40 and there was still no table for us.The waiter informed us that he was STILL waiting for the people to leave and didn't want to rush them.We looked at the table that was meant for us, the people looked in no rush to leave, they looked like they were enjoying their carry out, which was a large bottle of vodka! My friend explained to the waiter that we had a friend in our party from Australia whom we were wanting to entertain and the whole situation was a bit of a joke, to which he offered no apology and said there were people from all over the world in the restaurant(which we very much doubted). After standing for 5 minutes more we looked at a woman who was complaining about her food...at that we decided to leave. We phoned Café Havana in Berry Street who have a BYO policy, lucky enough they had a table free for us. It wasn't until after 9.30pm that we finally got sitting down for something to eat.The waiter at Havana was so helpful, friendly & attentive which made up for the appalling reception we got at Chopin. We were all disgusted and let down by the way we were treated at Chopin.Chopin should be giving their customers an allocated time slot for their tables like other restaurants do, to avoid disappointing the next customers who come to dine there. I have never experienced anything like that in my life going to a restaurant in Belfast, so bad that I had to actually register on Trip Advisor to let others know! #wewontbeback!

“Fabulous food, great value, wonderful service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

Had dinner on Wednesday - the Winter menu is fab - really loved the confit of duck and smoked salmon starters - kids (16 and 9) loved these too and their butternut squash soup and spicy chicken wings. Mains just as good - Slow cooked ribs were beautiful; tasty succulent burgers; and perfectly cooked hake. At £12.00 per head it's just unbelievable value plus BYO makes it even better. We just love it here and can vouch for breakfast too, wonderful. The service is first class too - the staff are so attentive and can't do enough for you. thanks for a brilliant birthday celebration! Ice cream and apple pie far better than any birthday cake.

“birthday party 13 people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Yet another fantastic experience on Saturday night 5/10/13 food was super , the smoked salmon was wonderful but the dressing was something special, never had anything as good, all the meals were very good love the new menu.
Totally shocked to see how many people were turned away at the door the place was fully booked, for Saturday night you need to book 4 weeks in advance, Complements to the chef.

“Great little restaurant, excellent service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

I visited Chopin for a second time recently with my husband. The food was excellent again as was the service. This place really is excellent value for money with 2 courses for £12. It was very busy when we visited and our food was delayed slightly (as apparently my hake was overcooked so they put on new one). The food though is spot on and the service is very good. Having eaten in a few of the restaurants in St Anne's Sq, Chopin remains my favourite.
