Description: Coppi, located in the heart of the buzzing Cathedral Quarter, is Belfast’s first cichetti bacari/restaurant inspired by those found in Venice and named after cycling legend Angelo Fausto Coppi. Coppi has proved to be hugely popular since opening in 2012 and offers a great selection of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine served in the coolest of surroundings. We serve a range of cichetti (Italian style tapas) starters, main courses, pizzette and homemade pasta and desserts freshly made in the restaurant every day. Our bar area which offers counter and high rise seating is perfect for a light lunch or a casual evening meal, whilst the spacious restaurant area is able to cope with parties of all sizes. The restaurant also boasts an outdoor seating area for those sunny days. With an extensive and quirky wine list, Italian and local beers, and a stunning selection of cocktails Coppi is the perfect spot for a night out! Vegan menus, Sunday sharing roasts and 3-7-3 lunch menus available!

First time at Coppi, not your standard Italian and some interesting dishes to try on the menu. I went for the duck ravioli which was not quite what I thought it would be (I thought the duck would be in the ravioli) but was tasty with lots of flavour.

Atmosphere is great with very friendly staff.

Fab ice cream with some good flavours on offer- honeycomb, chocolate and raspberry sorbet were all really great.

Good value for a good quality meal

Was here a few weekends ago (Saturday Night), there were 7 of of us in total

The restaurant was jammed packed... There seemed to be plenty of atmosphere and buzz in the restaurant.

The staff were very helpful and attentive, (with the exception of our first set of drinks which we did wait a while). But on the whole very good! One waiter in particular gave us a great recommendation of a delicious red. But the staff did seem very stretched.

The food though was just ok, nothing WAOH - melt in your mouth.... We had a selection of plates and a few starters between us. Adequate portion sizes but nothing I haven’t had before which was disappointing. For Mains, I opted for Pea Ravioli, which I felt lacked flavour. Other guests had steak, which they did comment was well cooked but again, this can be repeated in other establishments. There didn’t seem to be any daily specials on, which is unusual for an establishment. A couple of others had the fish – which seemed to hit the spot.

After mains we opted for cocktails, I had a delicious Espresso Martini.....

On the whole, I was underwhelmed by the experience, felt that there was something lacking... The restaurant was busy so I do wonder, if it was just a bad night.... or the lack of staff.....

We went to Coppi last night at 6pm as we were going to a trad. music evening in the Duke of York pub, very close by. All together this was a perfect way to start the evening. Lively atmosphere, good choice of starters and mains, didn't try the puds and reasonably priced house white and red. Would recommend Coppi for a group night out or somewhere with a lively atmosphere, interesting menu and cool cocktails.

I went to Coppi on recommendation of a friend and have been back 4 times in the space of a month! I couldn't recommend it enough. The service is great with friendly but unobtrusive staff. The food is lovely, fresh and full of flavour. I find the prices really reasonable and there is great variety!

We first went to Coppi in December 2012 and since the first visit we have returned at least 5 times. Family birthday dinners, nights out with friends to romantic dinners as a couple, it is perfect fir every occasion. we have enjoyed every meal and at one point had tried almost everything on the menu! The cichetti plates are brilliant as a starter to share and are the perfect size, feta fritters with truffled honey are a firm favourite and usually result in an argument over who is going to have the last piece! It is easy to tell that the dishes are well thought out as flavours go together brilliantly and the hardest thing is actually choosing which one to go for. Pasta is made fresh and all the ingredients are of a high quality. Desserts are delicious and light with some favourites being the lemon posset and panna cotta. Staff are also friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is good as the restaurant is always busy. We will definitely be returning to try the new menu soon.
