Went here for lunch with my wife on a monday afternoon. First impressions were great as the stairway is a bit uninviting (maybe something for the owners to improve?). Once inside the waitress was very pleasant and explained the menus and specials. The menu was very good, hearty pub grub. I got a burger with cabbage, bacon and pepper sauce - sounds a weird combo but was delicious. My wife got a lovely lasagne. Prices were super - £6 lunch specials for a main and drink. Bill was £20 for a great lunch. Overall very impressed!!

Went here one night after reading the rave reviews, the tables are interestingly painted and the service was very friendly and efficient, the food was just average however.

I had the breast of chicken that was described as being in red wine jus, it was basically surrounded by a pool of gravy. It was simple, basic food; similar to chip shop food. It was ok but not the amazing food others have described, maybe I visited on a bad night?

On the plus side the prices are very reasonable and you can bring your own wine so it works out a cheap night
