Filthy's is great no matter what day of the week you go. Suitable for any sort of night out- old man pub in the front, secret beer garden and chic cocktail bar in the back. And now there's a quirky dance floor and 'gypsy lounge' upstairs! You won't find a better place in Belfast, i love it! cute staff too ;)

got here at about 2200 on Sunday night and it was open mike night so various performers singing. Excellent standard and a great atmosphere as a result. Small bar but full and good beer!! Lots of foreign tourists in and seemed to enjoy the local music/atmosphere

Our party (mid 30's couples) were staying in the city to celebrate a friends birthday and had been out for food in a nearby restaurant. We thought we would go for a drink and wait for another group to join us, as we approached the entrance the guy on the door (all 5ft 5 of him) stepped out and said one of the guys in our group was too drunk and he wouldn't be getting in. We asked him how he thought he was too drunk as we had all just left a restaurant nearby, literally having one drink with our meal and it was early on in the night. Our response was just a smirk so we moved on around the corner to RBG's, which is a very nice bar. Filthies must be doing very well indeed when it can afford to turn away 5 couples and their money. I will not be back and will be advising people likewise.

Nice pub with a good vibe. Stayed downstairs and in the secret garden. Only went in for a few drinks before going to Ollies but would definitely go back.

Both my wife and I had seperate staff Christmas meals on the night in question (9th of Dec) and were all due to meet up at this bar. Three of our party arrived at filthy mcnastys 10 minutes before the other 5 of us and got through the door without a problem. When we arrived shortly afterwards we were told by the door man that it was a student bar and we weren't getting in. This is all why another member of the door staff laughed in the background. It's not a student bar because I've been in there a couple of times before. Called our 3 friends who did get in as we'll as my wife's party and arranged to meet at apartment instead. It was only 6pm and as the 3 of us who were able to get in confirmed, the place was half empty. It wasn't a question of capacity. I've run bars in the past and know the problems that letting bad eggs onto the premises can cause. That said, if you let your door staff turn away smartly turned out people with a capacity to spend (We had a £500 kitty and by the time we'd paid £9 a coctail in ollys, spent the guts of a grand) who've never caused any trouble of any sort in their lives who exactly do you want in your bar? To be honest I believe this was just a case of door staff being on a power trip but as we'll never be back and will be spreading the word with our friends to avoid this place, the inexplicable decision to turn us away will eventually cost tens of thousands of pounds. Our party's age range was 24-37 by the way so not so old that we couldn't enjoy the young vibe in this bar. Had a great night in the end no thanks to Filthy Mcnasty's.
