“Best of Belmont”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

Have had coffee, lunch and now an evening meal at No.36 and it is just great! Open for bring your own on Friday evenings the standard of food is fantastic! A fixed price menu with a choice of about 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts. The menu varies from week to week and on the night we were there, steak with peppercorn sauce was on the menu and unlike a lot of other places, there was no supplement for the steak! The desserts are home made and delicious. The crepes were to die for and the sticky toffee pudding was so light and tasty. Portions are just right so you can indulge both your savoury and sweet sides and enjoy 3 courses. Although small, the tables are well placed so it feels intimate and not cramped. The background music is pleasant but not intrusive. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. The staff are very friendly, chatty and efficient. All in all it makes for a good night out! We'll be back.

“Great cafe, but get there early for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2012

No. 36 is a relatively recent addition to Belmont Rd, but has quickly become my favourite place for a light lunch or a cup of coffee. My only gripe is that it's not big enough, so to be sure of a table for lunch it's best to get there before 1. The menu is extensive for such a small place, with all food prepared freshly and locally sourced. No. 36 opens for breakfast at 8.30 am Mon-Fri and 9 am on Saturday. The coffee is fantastic, and there's a range of Suki teas and excellent hot chocolates on offer. Lunchtime sandwiches, paninis and salads are complemented by heartier options that change regularly. On Friday evenings No. 36 has a fixed price BYO menu of absolutely delicious food, almost always including steak and a great pepper sauce. At just £13.95 for two courses or £15.95 for three it's a bargain night out. Last orders are at 9.
