We had our wedding here in early October 2010 and overall the hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff on the lead up to the wedding were helpful and took a lot of the stress out of organising the day, especially as were doing everything remotely from England.
We stayed for two nights in the hotel in a suite and the room was lovely (if a little on the expensive side) but was incredibly warm. All our guests that stayed in the hotel also said the same thing and only some of the windows were able to open. We don't know if this was a fault with the air conditioning as the issue was never really addressed and we didn't get a straight answer from any of the staff at the time.
In saying this, everyone in the party still enjoyed their stay and we have received many positive comments from family and friends on the standard of the food and service on the wedding day itself.
When the wedding day arrived it seemed that every detail was thought of and taken care of and we didn't have one moment of feeling hassled or stressed. The staff were all incredibly attentive, pleasant and friendly without being overbearing. Once our ceremony at City Hall was over the master of ceremonies was there to greet us and start ushering our guests back to the hotel (just across the road!). Once in the hotel we were greeted with a cocktail reception and hors d'ouvres which were handed round on platters by the staff (mini burgers - HIGHLY recommended...people still talk about them!). After some mingling we settled down for dinner and the food was excellent with a large choice. Our guest's special requests were dealt with excellently (e.g. chips instead of mash at the last minute). The DJ recommended by the staff was really good and kept the dance floor filled all night.
A big thanks to all the staff and especially to Johnny (our MC) for making sure everything ran without a hitch and generally made everyone feel very welcome.
