“The upstairs bit - Porcelain”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

Hungry (and thirsty) festive diners don't expect 100% in the run up to the big day (25th) yet the service (today) in Porcelain (upstairs in Ten Square) was top class!
As a former editor of drinks and food industry business magazines I have been hosted in the Park Lane Hilton and the likes of Le Gavroche and the Hurlingham Club (to name just a very few of the many) and have to say that our wee Belfast beats them all!
Staff were friendly but not OTT, the service was fast, and appropriate to the event and the food was brilliant.
Festive turkey and ham is not haute cusine, but in this case was outstanding, well presented as part of a six course meal and a tribute to the staff (and management, which is ex Hastings Hotels).
I give it a full 9/10 and recommend it to anyone.
Where would you get such service and quality for £30 a head?
Well done, Belfast!
PS: Last week's flag protests/violence at the hotel's front door has been ignored: as we said in Troubles 1970s 'Business as Usual'!
It really is too- do NOT be deterred: Merry Xmas!!!

We hadn't intended to stop over in Belfast,so after an exhausting day enjoying the sights and sounds of the Titanic quarter and the Continental Market, we were overjoyed when Des and Sandra,my beloved in-laws, revealed that they had booked us into the Hotel Ten Square.
This little haven of peace and tranquillity sits amongst the gaiety, clamour and bustle of the Christmas festivities, right next door to the City Hall and we had the good fortune to have been given ,what must have been, the best room in the house.
The room was scrupulously clean, the bed, large and comfortable, and the stand-alone bath proved irresistible even to a tide-marked old shower jockey like me.
The food in the restaurant was definitely writehomeaboutable, and the staff were extraordinarily helpful and hospitable throughout our stay.
Sophie,David and Jennifer all deserve special mention and only an age and alcohol-related short term memory disorder prevents me from naming other friendly faces. Maybe next time.Oh,there was a great Ulster Fry!!,I've got a photo somewhere.....

Booked a triple room , the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in . Extremely clean , reception staff , bar and breakfast staff very professional and friendly . Stayed in a few hotels in Belfast , the breakfast at Ten Square is by far the best, fresh and tasty. Location excellent for Christmas Markets and Shopping.

We stayed on Sunday past on a bed and breakfast and evening meal offer and it was a really chic hotel in the middle of Belfast right behind City Hall. We enjoyed a walk around the city and then enjoyed a drink in the bar of the hotel which was very busy( i did notice a famous face in the bar) This seemed to be a very popular place indeed.
Our room was so nice with all the little extras like robes, mini bar, bottled water, excellent all round, a real treat.
Our meal in the evening was excellent especially the liquid dessert which was unusual but great.

Room Tip: turn up the hotel has parking facillities but can be difficult pre book before arrival

My partner, daughter and I stayed here at the weekend. We attended a wedding reception at the hotel. During the weekend we experienced all aspects of the hotel and were delighted and very impressed with the standard of service we received. Every member of staff we came into contact with were really frendly and very attentive. Shortly after arriving we had lunch in the bar. It was delish. Even though the bar was really busy, the food arrived very quickly. Its presentation was great and we all cleared our plates. There was a lovely atmosphere in the bar, a really great place to have a fab lunch.
Our hotel room was very large and comfortable, very clean. We all slept really well.Breakfast was also great. We cant wait to stay were again the next time we are in wonderful Belfast.

Booked a groupon deal for afternoon tea for 2 in Nov 2012.

I had my concerns as I don't trust groupon - but I was absolutely delighted. The waitresses were extremely pleasant and helpful and did their utmost to provide first class service, I thought Ten Square had a good atmosphere and a nice decor. The male receptionist could be a bit more thoughtful, he cut me off when I said hello to deal with another customer but it was only a minor issue.

Now on to the best part! Afternoon tea:
The range of cocktails were all delicious - so it was hard to choose! The afternoon tea was fantastic!! Ample selection included scones (my only suggestion would be to add a bit more cream and jam as we had a bit of a fight over them lol), buns, treats and sandwiches. It also includes chips and salad which was a welcomed bonus.

We would definitely go back, I couldn't recommend it enough!
