Can't really say anything about our visit was memorable. Everything was pretty average except the service was slow. Lengthy wait between starter and main. Decor didn't do it for me either.

A late lunch found us in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, and at this restaurant/bistro in St Anne's Square. Much of what this establishment does is fine, and the staff are charming and undoubtedly its best feature. The lunch menu is well priced & concise but with reasonable choice- everything from fresh soup and gourmet sandwiches to crispy squid and belly of pork. The wine list is comprehensive. The restaurant was not busy, and we did wait some time for our food. When it eventually came it was nicely presented, perfectly edible but certainly not memorable....this food lacked personality!. A table card informed us of various restaurant promotions and theme evenings that looked somewhat more interesting, but with considerable competition in this vibrant area, 4th Wall really does need to think about what might make it distinctive.

I was there last night with a bunch of wonderful friends, the restaurant itself is lovely, the food is really nice and the staff are just brilliant. We arrived at 8pm and left shortly after midnight, unlike other places i have eaten, the staff never made you feel like you should be leaving and the little touches, like a free shot, really made our night. The restaurant was really busy, which is always a good sign. All in all, i would definitely recommend this for a lovely meal and a great night out.Thank you to all, at the 4th Wall.

My husband and I had a wonderful evening in 4th Wall last Saturday night. We were celebrating his birthday and had theatre tickets for afterwards so booked a table for 5.30. It was quiet but there was a lovely atmosphere among the staff. I think you can tell a lot about a place with how the staff seem to interact; they were chatty and friendly with each other, yet their priority was still serving the diners. As it busied up, we were extremely well looked after without being intruded upon. My husband is quite a "foodie" and can be very fussy but he raved about both starter and main course. He had the tomato and basil soup and Guinness wheaten to start, I had the crab rolls (soy jelly, yum!), then we both had the steak. Absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly, presented beautifully. Often this fine level of cuisine is meagre in its portions but not so! Wine was fantastic too and I couldn't resist a delicious Pina Colada (not on the drinks list but available and made with chef's own coconut ice cream!) We asked if we could have a taxi and it was there within minutes as well. We were going to book Nick's or James Street South for this occasion but couldn't get a table at the time we wanted. Very glad we were too. The manageress and staff go the extra mile here and I haven't enjoyed a meal as much in a long time. We shall be back at the next opportunity. Hope the word spreads about this wee hidden gem in Cathedral Quarter. Thanks to all at 4th Wall for a lovely evening!
