“A welcome return!”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Bistro Este has moved to the heart of Ballyhackamore and a very positive note for Ballyhackamore to have a chef dedicated to offering something a bit more up market and creative for the area.

The floor space and atmosphere in the restaurant is stunning. The sky light in the ceiling makes for a really light airy room where you are able to soak up the atmosphere at your leisure. The menu is adventurous I had crubeens and lobster thermidor last night, on their second night of opening.

The front of house staff are friendly and accommodating. I was in at 6pm on the dot as they opened and as I left at 7-30pm the place was filling up nicely. From the conversations easily heard by staff on the phone, they were full up for Saturday so it all looks positive for the new venture.

I wish David and his wife the best.

“The Last Supper......”
Reviewed September 16, 2013 via mobile

We ate here on the last night before the restaurant closed for relocation to the Ballyhackamore area.
As usual the food was first class and of the high standard we have come to expect from the chef David Adams.
A very enjoyable evening with the best service from the helpful and pleasant staff.
Can't wait until the new restaurant opens in 'The Hack'
Bring it on.......

“Super food, super service”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Have been trying to get here for months and finally made it last night. It was certainly worth the wait. Pleasant decor and comfortable seating. Very friendly and efficient service. The menu was refreshingly interesting, varied and innovative and the food was nicely presented and delicious. For starters we (six) had langoustine bisque, falafels with baba ganoush, pigeon and squid. For mains, we had steak, lobster, pork cheek and scampi (sounds dull but was actually superb). For dessert, there were rhubarb and custard brûlée, taste au citron, chocolate brownie (yum) and Eton Mess, then good Segafredo coffee. £65 for two, tip included was great value for excellent food. It's BYO, which keeps the cost down, of course. All in all, it was a lovely, relaxed evening and, hopefully, the first of many. Highly recommended

“Work night out - really really good”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Booking a bring-your-own bottle venue for dinner in Belfast is not straightforward - very few places do BYO.

None of my twenty office colleagues had heard of Bistro Este. We had the upstairs area to ourselves, and had a good choice of starters and mains. Good bread too! The dinner food isn't cheap, but we enjoyed a good range of quality dining. Several colleagues said it was one of the best meals they'd had - enjoyed more than The Merchant (which is praise indeed).

Haven't been for breakfast/lunch - and check which evenings Bistro Este is open for dinner... book in advance.
