Description: Contemporary Indian cuisine, located on bank street in the heart of Belfast City centre. At Safa we offer authentic Indian recipes and traditional style of cooking. Ali takes great pride in cooking to order and grinding all his own spices so it really is the closest to Indian home cooking you can get. We also have a full bar and incredible wine list.

Go every fortnight with friends or family! Always amazing, great service and great food. Well priced and lots to try, even for someone who goes so regularly.

I have eaten at the safa several times. The restaurant is clean, and the service, although slow, was acceptable. The portions are good. The food is good, but far from fantastic. Nice curries. We liked the naan. will back soon..

Four of us had dinner at Safa ten days ago and were really blown away by the quality of the food and the service both of which were absolutely delightful. The constituent parts of all of the dishes were beautifully cooked and the starters a meal in themselves. We were asked if we would like to perhaps wait for our main courses and although it was a busy Friday night, we were not rushed in any way. There are not too many top class Indian restaurants in Northern Ireland but this one certainly deserves to be at the top of the table. First class!

This was my first visit to Safa & it most definitely will NOT be my last; the entire experience was utterly exceptional! The restaurant was recommended to me by my Family whom are frequent Patrons of Safa, therefore my expectations were already high upon arriving, however upon leaving my expectations had been thoroughly exceeded. The welcome which we received was extremely friendly & warm, instantly making us feel like appreciated Customers. Despite not having a reservation we were immediately accommodated & attended to (this was a Saturday night too 16.03.13), & each of the waiting Staff were polite, personable, attentive & all appeared to be sincerely committed to providing excellent customer service; particularly Stacey & Proprietor, Ali whom is evidently highly passionate about his restaurant & business!
We enjoyed a selection of popadoms with the typical accompanying indian dips, although there was nothing "typical" about the presentation; the popadoms were perfectly formed, "mini" popadoms, presented upon a beautiful, white china rectangular platter & the dips were utterly delicious & again served in crisp white china dishes; the presentation simply oozed quality. We then took the lamb tikka & vegetable samosa to start which were both totally delicious, well seasoned & yet again beautifully presented upon the white china previously mentioned. For our mains we selected a chicken bhuna, a chicken tikka massala & a lamb jalfrezi, along with pilau rice, a mushroom pilau rice & a peswari naan bread; incidentally, there were three (3) of us dinning!! Once again, the presentation was outstanding & just perfect; it was so refreshing to be served excellent & delicious Indian food in contemporary crisp white china, opposed to the typical silver, metal, balti-style serving dishes normally used. Each of the main course dishes were fantastic & it was evident that only the freshest ingredients had been used because the standard of the food was pure quality & the portions were niether small or large, simply, just right! The service throughout was wonderful & could not be faulted in any way. The decor is very stylish, contemporary & tasteful & it was evident the entire restaurant was absolutely immaculately clean; particularly the Ladies toilets which in my book is always a good yard stick to measure any Establishment's standards by. Safa is by far THE best Indian restaurant & cuisine I have EVER experienced & I would highly recommend it; you will NOT be disappointed!!

Very yummy. Will be back without hesitation. As we are vegetarian for a variation on the panneer dish. This was no problem at all. Food was also not swimming in oil which seems to be standard in some Indian Restaurants.
