“Fair value, good for lunch, well presented, food ok, lacks distinction”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2012

On Bank Street, a side street to the right of Primark. Not very appealing from the outside but well presented internally, narrow little place ideal for lunch. Small unimaginative choice of menu, inexpensive, worth a visit for lunch and probably good for Belfast. Can't fault the service and excellent presentation but lacks distinct range of flavours when compared to the diversities of Manchester's curry mile, Bradford, Midlands and East London. Mournes Fish place next door offers more exciting option despite being different cuisine or even Thai Village (awesome) near Park Inn, 5 min walk past Nando's on same side of the road.

“Excellent food, well presented. Very friendly and timely staff and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2012

Had meal for two on evening of Sat 25-Feb-2012 after recommendations from friends. We were not disappointed. Food and service were both excellent. Staff very polite and helpful. Food was nicely timed throughout evening. A nice atmosphere and cosy spot for that wee romantic meal. Will be returning and also recommending to friends. All round good value.

“Yummy food in a classy atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2012

We heard about Safa Belfast from friends who had been there and they recommended the place as serving really good specialised Indian food, so we decided to give it a go. Just above Kelly's bar was pretty much straight forward to find; we got there no problem feeling very curious about what we were going to find. I have to say we were very pleasantly surprised to find such classy atmosphere in a spot where we didn't expect to find it. The place is very stylish and it is suitable for Indian atmosphere. It is amazing how it is spacious although the place looks tiny from outside. We were greeted with big smiles and served throughout the evening with best service I have ever seen. The menu is filled with both the Indian classics and speciality food created by Safa. I have tried slow cooked Pasanda with Lamb. It was the tastiest Indian food I have ever had! Flavours were so rich yet I never felt too stuffed or anything; I just savoured every little bit of it. Pilau Rice was so aromatic that I could not resist the temptation to get one more. My friends had Chicken Tikka Masala which they really enjoyed and my vegetarian friend had a vegetable curry and she was equally impressed with the richness of flavours. All our questions about the menu were answered in detail and they had no problem with giving some of us milder dishes when we requested. We all shared a bottle of wine and also tried the deserts and ice cream which we really enjoyed. The best part of it, all this good quality was not expensive at all. So I highly recommend this restaurant to all who enjoy Indian food.

Went for a meal on valentines night. Food was great, service was prompt, nice restaurant!
Went to toilets and they were very clean and well looked after. Always a sign of well kept premises. Will be back soon with our friends.
