Owner description: The Titanic Belfast visitor attraction extends over nine galleries, with multiple dimensions to the exhibition. Drawing together special effects, dark rides, full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features you will explore the Titanic story in a fresh and insightful way from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to her infamous maiden voyage and catastrophic demise. The journey goes beyond the aftermath of the sinking, to the discovery of the wreck and continues into the present day in the Ocean Exploration Centre.

“Expensive, but exciting!”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

I was really surprised how much I enjoyed my visit here, it was very informative and the photos and attractions were fascinating, the gift shop, cafe and museum was all very expensive, but I definitely recommend giving it a visit!!

“Impressive exhibition”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Excellent new(ish) exhibition/experience about Titanic. Allow a good 3 hours to go round in detail, tracing the Belfast industries of the time, shipbuilding (nice little 'ride' to break things up), what the inside of TItanic was like and the aftermath and enquiry into the sinking. It doesn't linger on the actual accident - perhaps not to 'frighten the children' (of which there were many!) - but the descriptions of the rescue/identification/funerals are poignant enough! All rounded off with a review of the films made, and the exploration of the wreck.

Good facilities adjoining the exhibition, if a little over-priced for food and souvenirs. Remember to explore the outside and if time and inclination allow, well worth the walk (about 10 mins) up to Titanic's dock and pump-house to get an idea of its sheer scale.

Would suggest that very young children would find the 'tour' far too long (not sure if you can bail out half way round then re-enter) and would get little from it. Although there are plenty of interactive displays, they became tedious by the end, with most kids just pressing buttons randomly and 'swiping' without reading. Admission is not cheap - save it until they're old enough to appreciate it.

“Good local exhibit but not world class”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Very disappointed after all the hype. Went at Easter with my wife and 3 kids. £50 entrance fee for us all, plus parking and then another £26 for juice and buns in the cafe. Gift shop has all the usual tasteless "titanic this" and "titanic that". The exhibition itself was overcrowded with people. We arrived 15 minutes early but staff said go ahead in [what's the point in having time slots then?]. We would have been happy to wait. The first few galleries set the scene but are mostly photo and story boards that any centre could do. Are a few interactive graphic displays but kids just play on them so difficult to read. The next galleries are about the "riveting" and you go up in a lift to experience "going to work" on the titanic [underwhelming]. Then the much hyped ride into the bowels of the titanic. Very disappointing. A few videos of men showing us how riveting was done [I will spare any "riveting" jokes. Next gallery is about the launch. Boring and dull. The fit-out gallery could have been the best one but again it is all a bit underhwelming. There was an opportunity to engage with visitors [staff in costume, tell stories of passengers etc] but they focus on carpets etc. The last few galleries are about the sinking and the aftermath [again just display boards and voiceovers which any venue could host. The last galleries show footage of titanic on seabed. Overall it is awful. If you are travelling from outside Belfast, nevermind from across the globe, think twice.
