Owner description: The Titanic Belfast visitor attraction extends over nine galleries, with multiple dimensions to the exhibition. Drawing together special effects, dark rides, full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features you will explore the Titanic story in a fresh and insightful way from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to her infamous maiden voyage and catastrophic demise. The journey goes beyond the aftermath of the sinking, to the discovery of the wreck and continues into the present day in the Ocean Exploration Centre.

“Great Titanic Experience”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

A must see during your Belfast trip. This exhibition is done in a great way with audio and visual effects and even a short gondola ride during which you can experience the shipyard where the Titanic was built. Excellent exhibition, well worth the money.

“Interesting and well done!”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

After reading the reviews I was concerned that I would find this museum boring. Instead, I found this museum to be very interesting and also very well done.Although I'm not a Titanic fanatic, it was a wonderful way to spend a day and learn about Belfast and the history / story of the Titanic. I took the train up from Dublin (a nice 2.5 hour train ride) and walked to the museum (an easy ~40 minute scenic walk). The design of the museum is quite striking - both inside and out. Beautiful and clever. When you start into the museum sections, you first learn about Belfast at the time of the Titanic - this section is great to learn more about the history of Belfast. I had no idea that it was a big linen producer prior to becoming a shipbuilding center. Also interesting to learn how Belfast was turned from a back-water city with no real harbor into a booming shipping port. Then you get into the vision, design and building of the Titanic - everything from the ship's hull and infrastructure to the various room design and the fine craftsmanship. There is an easy-going ride that is an ingenious way to give you an idea of the scale of the ship and what it took to build something that big. Lots of info about the history and "politics" behind the ship. There are sections on the sinking and the aftermath, as well as Titanic in the media / movies / history. All in all, an excellent way to spend a day. I highly recommend this museum. Much more interesting than the nearby Titanic dry dock and pump house.

We went to the Titanic Experience and it was amazing, the overall museum was really put together well, very informative and the afternoon tea in the recreated ballroom was fantastic.

“Excellent way to spend a Belfast morning”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

This is a brilliant exhibition - its amazingly informative and thought provoking. The center itself is an amazing building which creates a great sense of anticipation for the story its there to tell. Creating a sense of why Belfast was even building the world's largest ships at the time was especially interesting and a part of the story that i did not know. The whole experience was great for all the family and I would recommend it.

“A superb attraction”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

I approached this as somewhat of a sceptic, and as an ex shipyard employee, expecting to be let down. Exactly the opposite.
From the building itself, the finishes utilised both inside and out, this was excellent. The exhibition takes you through Belfast at the time of the ship being built, centred on linen, rope making & of course shipbuilding. The shipyard ride is super, and worth the short queue, as you travel through the yard of the time, hearing and seeing the operation.
Some superb mock-ups of various cabins, dining rooms, with projected characters within, and the computer generated trip up through the ship, from engine room to bridge, is awesome.
At the very end, don't miss looking through the glass floor, as you're taken across the wreck site in a submersible.
This is good value, and we could have spent much longer, had we not run out of time. Allow at least 3 hours for your visit.
