“Over cooked slop!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2013

I have ate here before and thought i would give it a go again. Wish i didn't, the last time i went here i got rhetorically lobster and it tasted frozen or washed out with cold water and the " crap sack " was still in it. On this visit i got the sea bas and it was way over cooked and found a bone. Service was plesent that's all i can say on the good side off it. I would advice you to go to tescos and buy an " o so fishy " pack and stay in!!!

“Fabulous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

Excellent food, loads of choice and if you like seafood you will be spoiled. cant wait to go back and try again. Its BYO, which is also a bonus. Small and dark with a great atmosphere. The staff are great and the service was excellent for a table of 7. It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Definietly would recomend.

“One Word -OUTSTANDING!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

This is one of Belfast's best kept secrets. My wife and I have just discovered this fabulous seafood restaurant. We have since eaten here many times.Sole has become out favourite restaurant.I have travelled extensively and have eaten in some of the best seafoods restaurants at home and abroad and I can tell you for my wife and I - "SOLE tops them ALL".
The freshest seafood is skillfully prepared and cooked to the very highest of standards.Every constituent part of the meal explodes with flavour and quality of taste.
The lunch menu is fantastic value for money with portions that are substantial yet retain the quality one would expect from an evening meal.
Quite simply ,this place is top class. The cooking is just pure class from a chef who knows how to prepare and handle seafood -the accompanying sauces are to die for!

It is a privilege to eat here - when others are serving up cardboard ,packeted rubbish ,what a joy to find a place where the highest standards of cooking are adhered too - the proof of which can be found in the quality and flavour of every plate.

Service is excellent and attentive without being patronising or invasive. The chef's drive for excellence and his passion for food can be seen in the very varied and updated menu on offer.
Only problem is that so many people are now discovering this gem on the Lisburn Rd that is becoming difficult to get a reservation due to over subscription.

If you love seafood ,if you love classical food cooked with passion and panache then I heartily recommend SOLE as a venue which will not disappoint those with experience and a knowledge and appreciation for top class seafood.

Thanks for being different. Thanks for delivering food which explodes with taste.

The best way to describe SOLE is that they offer fantastic seafood dishes -which bring a warm smile to your face even on a wet wintry Belfast Saturday afternoon.

“Perfect meal, perfect service, excellent value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013 via mobile

The wife & I took the parents out to Sole Seafood for a belated Mothers Day meal, on the advice of other family members.
I'm glad we did! This BYO restaurant is an absolute gem. The menu was superb, and excellent value aswell (£12 for 2 courses on certain nights). I've been to places where their deals leave you hungry for more - not here!! Great size portions of fresh tasty fish dishes, absolutely delicious! The single waiter on duty had everything under control, nothing was too much trouble, and everything was done with a polite smile.
Excellent restaurant, it won't be long until we return.

“Ideal for Something Relaxed and Fishy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

My father and I attended to Sole for lunch on a Saturday afternoon.

On appearance the venue is very clean and uniformed looking. It hosts an almost posh cafe feel to it with a relaxed atmosphere.

I had mussels and they were beaut and nicely done. My father went for the fish pie which was a generous portion and we shared a nice side of chips, veg and potatoes. All of which tasted fresh, well cooked and were beautifully presented. The chips were chunkys served in the miniature pales/buckets.

It was bring your own so we naturally brought a cheeky bottle red with us and it was a nice atmosphere to enjoy a nice lunch time tipple.

The staff were lovely and very friendly.

There are specials on the board and the kitchen is open plan.

Definitely recommend a try here, as I feel it ticks all the boxes - good fresh food, friendly helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, nice surroundings, open plan kitchen, reasonable prices, well prepared and presented.
