We visited not quite knowing what to expect, but based on word-of-mouth. We arrived early around 10am (a good tip!) and the kids were straight into all the hands-on exhibits. Our 4-year-old didn't really understand all the "science" stuff, but had a great time nonetheless. She proved almost impossible to remove from the main play area, which was pitched a bit more to her age, but she also got a kick out of other things also.
Our older boy (8) was completely in his element, and would still be there if he could. He was able to understand a lot more of what was going on.....so there was some educational benefit. We eventually dragged them out of there around 5:30, completely exhausted (us, and them!)
It's also good value, a full day for 2+2 for less than £30.
The only thing we didn't like was the choice of food in the Odyssey. There's a basic cafe in W5 (sandwiches, panini, etc), but your ticket allows you to exit/enter multiple times in the day. So we looked around the Odyssey for food options. Pizza Hut was queued out the door, as was another cafe, and we didn't fancy Chinese or US Diner food. In the end, we nipped back into the City Centre and had lunch there....which is completely feasible.
But we will definitely go back.......we'll just need to get in training, as we were exhausted!
