“Elderly Travellers Beware - Madison's website does not fullfill promises re: airport shuttle”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2009

Madisons in Belfast advertises an airport shuttle, but after I booked it someone from the hotel rang to see if I wanted a taxi to meet me as the shuttle stops 5 minutes away from the hotel. I agreed but it cost £30. I would not recommend a hotel that does not fullfill its promises to anyone. (Mrs. Jean Storey - Aged 78)

At Madison's we have an abundance of guests of all ages. We have looked into how the confusion here has been caused to quickly resolve the matter. We really enjoyed our stay at madisons hotel. The hotel is centrally located and everything is within a 15 minute walk. We found all the staff to be really friendly and attentive. Our meal in the restaurant was delicious, the rooms were basic but spotless and had everything you would need for a night away. We will definately be back on our next visit to belfast.

Beautiful little hotel and we got it at a bargain price 70 quid for a two night stay. (35pp) Had great crack with the bar staff and reception staff were most helpful and welcoming.
The room we got was splendid huge bed lots of space in the room, huge bathroom.
Room was extremely clean, bathroom was extremely clean.
Great location for touring around Belfast.
A nice hotel with a great location.

Stayed for one Saturday night. The staff were very helpful, reception phoned for taxis, had free late check out, room service on time. residents bar was fun til 4 ish in the morning, club was a laugh, free entry to club (well you wouldn't pay to be honest! ha), tea/coffee/biscuites in room.
one strange thing was we couldn't find a normal plug, they seemed to be round plugs, we searched for ages, not sure what was going on there and didn't have time to involve staff.
It's not the chiquest hotel in the world , it seems to be busy with stag parties etc.
if you just want somewhere central, there are loads of bars, restaurants, shops etc, and are intending to go out and have fun, then this is your place.
i was surprised to see Gilchrist and soames toiletries though, they are lovely and i've only ever seen them in really good spa resorts, nice perk!!
i'd go back again, we really had a good evening.

This hotel is comfortable and central to all attractions and is situated on a lovely street with plenty of restaurants nearby, however, it is badly managed and complaints are not taken seriously by very rude staff. I stayed with a friend for 2 nights and got little sleep both nights. The first night of excessive noise, I contacted the porter who dealt with the customer using threats and bad language. The second night, when a group of 18 year olds were screaming, shouting and fighting in the corrider, my phone calls to the front desk were ignored completley. I feel that the hotel receptionist was reluctant to take any blame for the situation and did not want to deal with my complaints. It did not help that payment for the room was demanded up front when checking in... I was not impressed with the manner in which the very rude receptionist handled this especially as they already had my credit card details as security. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews on this site. You have been warned...

Hadnt organised the booking myself for a variety of reasons. Arrived on a filthy rainy/cold sun night off the Dublin train; checked in at 9.10pm to find not only was there no room service but no food ie 'the kitchen closes at 9 on weekends' (this was 10 mins past). 'everyone knows that'.....well I didnt. And even though there is a subway and Harry Ramsden's across the road it was raining so hard that to dash their and back would have been worse. Pretty awful service - no apologiy 'thats the way it is at weekends....'. The room had 2 twin beds (years since Ive slept in a single bed); the curtains didnt meet so light from streetlight seeped in making it hard to sleep. And the cover of the central light fitting was missing in bedroom which meant I could see the strip bulb and electrical 'guts'. Pretty awful. Wont stay again.

The one good thing was the night receptionist/watchman was very helpful when problems with WIFI.

Rude head receptionist. The place smelt of disinfectant. Worst breakfast for food and environment ever experienced.
