I usually believe in "you get what you pay for" but can honestly say that the Tara Lodge was significantly cheaper than Premier Inn/Holiday Inn Express etc. for the same period and was SO much nicer! Excellent location just off Botanic Avenue (with its fabulous range of cafes, bars and restaurants) and a short walk to Queen's and to the City Centre; extremely welcoming and helpful staff; comfy beds and a breakfast to rival any 5* establishment. What's not to like?!!

Was only here for an overnight, but would happily come back for a longer stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Location excellent (for our purposes anyway). Romms not the biggest but clean and comfortable. Was a wee bit noisy outside but it was the weekend in Belfast, so to be expected - nothing to be done.
Would recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for room at back at weekend.

Stayed for two nights. Excellent staff! Accomodating for mobility scooter. Breakfast service was exceptional. Staff very personable and friendly. Close to many attractions. Allowed us space to plug in and charge mobility scooter . Porridge was wonderful.

Room Tip: south side quieter

Stayed at Tara Lodge when visiting the excellent Titanic museum. Friendly and helpful staff made our first visit to Belfast one to remember. Ideally place for walking into centre of Belfast and train station just minutes away to visit transport museum at Cultra. Excellent restuarants in the Botanic area without having to walk far.

Stayed for one night whilst visiting family.
Check in was very good and typified the whole experience at Tara Lodge. Reception staff were very polite and helpful, and although we arrived too early, they stored our bags and gave us good directions to the centre of Belfast, about 15 minutes away by foot, and called us once the rooms were ready.
Once in our rooms we were delighted to have been given a bottle of champagne on the house. Very nice touch.
We were in a block of rooms next to the main hotel building, accessed by a separate entrance, and the rooms could only be accessed by stairs.
The rooms were very nice, tastefully decorated with good quality fittings. The initial external view of the hotel maybe a bit concerning as the street where the hotel is situated is not the nicest, however do not let this put you off as this is more than made up for by the quality received from the staff.
After a good nights sleep we ate breakfast which again was a nice experience. The waiting staff had us seated quickly and the menu was comprehensive and the food arrived quickly from the kitchen, preceded by choices of cereals etc. the cooked breakfast was excellent.
Check out was again painless with no surprises.
All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
