“Outstanding - Perfect Hotel”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

After Dublin we went up to Belfast and we choose the TARA Lodge for our stay. That was a really good choice!

The location is nice and you can find restaurant and bars in the area. You can walk to city centre within 20 minutes.

The recpetion staff is very friendly and helpfull. They organized flowers for my wife. Everything was perfect. The rooms were spacious and clean.

The breakfast was really outstanding. The perfect start for a busy day. If we visit Belfast again we will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

A super 4 star Bed & Breakfast.Apart from breakfast this hotel does no other meals which is a great pity. The breakfast is of a very high standard, and you can imagine starting the day with a plate of porridge and a nip of whiskey. The area in which the hotel is situated is very run down with lots o properties for sale or let, but once you are inside Tara Lodge that is all forgotten.
The hotel is situated within a twenty minute walk of the city center, with lots of restaurants and pubs around it.
When we return to Belfast we will make sure that we stay at Tara Lodge
This was our first visit to Ireland and hopefully it won't be our last, as we found the people to be most welcoming.

Tara Lodge has a boutique feel to it. Lots of charm was oacked into our room which was located in an annex building . The decor was beautifully done and beds very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small, but we would trade that minor negative for everything else this property offered. Parking is available ( first come, first served) right behind the hotel. After seeing how non existent street parking spaces were, we were lucky to have secured the next to last spot. Staff were very friendly and provided great dining choices for us within walking distance. The porridge at breakfast lived up to its rave reviews, and the omelets were also tasty. Our only regret was we only had one night here. The neighborhood is interesting to walk...with the university five or so blocks away it is filled with activity.

Stayed here for one night in February. Chosen purely based on the reviews on tripadvisor so was pleased to get a really good deal direct on the hotel's website. We arrived around 11am and were able to check our bags until later. About a 20 min walk to City Hall. The area surrounding the hotel does look a little rundown due to the surrounding student housing but at no time did we feel unsafe when walking around at night. Loads of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We ate at Cayenne and can recommend it.

We had a small double room in the annexe. Spotlessly clean although the room is pretty small with a view overlooking the fire escape. Nevertheless, it was more than adequate for one night and true to the pictures on the website. It was quite noisy but then it is a city centre hotel so a certain level of street noise is to be expected.

Breakfast was nice and service excellent. We were able to leave our bags until our evening flight meaning we had another whole day to enjoy Belfast. We would certainly return to the Tara Lodge if we returned to Belfast.

A unique find in Belfast located in a busy and eclectic student/university area of Belfast. The Lodge is impeccable in cleanliness and has a very "new" feel. The rooms, public areas and shower/bath facilities are simply spotless.
The staff are extraordinarily friendly and helpful and a major benefit that cannot be underestimated is the secure (locked after 11:00pm) off street parking that is monitored by video camera.
We only stayed one night as we were passing through Belfast on our way towards yet another golf course, but this would be an excellent base for touring Belfast.
We had a double room which was just fine, but be advised that the bed was just that a "double" so if you are accustomed to a more roomy queen/king you may wish to opt for twin beds.
B'fast was excellent with cold cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea plus cooked options of porridge, eggs to your liking, sausage, bacon toast etc.
Again service was friendly and flawless.
Highly recommended along with the majority of TA contributors. MUCH better than traditional B&B offerings.

Comfortable room, king size bed, bath tub great for soaking after we cycled here. Location is convenient to many restaurants. Great breakfast, too. We walked to central Belfast & to Botanic Gardens easily from the hotel.

We stayed two separate nights while doing a driving tour of Northern Ireland. The hotel staff were very accommodating and the breakfast was delicious. They use a pack-n-play as the baby cot and our 2 year old enjoyed sleeping in it. Free parking (though limited spaces available) and wifi were nice too.
