Description: Welcome to the Belvedere Cafe Restaurant. We are a popular family friendly cafe during the day and BYO restaurant when the lights go down sitting right in the heart of the bustling Cregagh. Serving wholesome, seasonal food in comfortable, relaxed surroundings over two floors we endeavour to source most of our ingredients from local suppliers. From cosy coffee chats to belt-busting breakfasts, light lunches to succulent steaks, we are here to keep your tummies and your wallets happy! We also love a good party, so if you are planning a bit of a do, drop us a line and see what we can do.

“Great food and good value”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

We visited the Belvedere last night for the first time even though we live in the area, purely on the strength of reviews we read in Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The restaurant was very quiet on Thursday night, but that didn't detract too much from the experience. Service was good, food even better. One of my sons has the pan fired chicken which was dispatched in record time, the other son had the fajitas which didn't last too long either. My wife had the homemade burger and chips and I had the BBQ pulled pork sliders. If you decide to go to the Belvedere, you need to try the sliders - they are delicious. They are BBQ pork, shredded and served in crusty bap served with salad and chips or sauté potatoes. I will be back to have these again. The burger was really good too. The dessert menu is small but we found something for everyone. Two of us had white chocolate and honeycomb cheesecake, one had a bowl of ice cream and the last chose the carrot cake. Portion size is large and service is very quick and smooth. You can bring your own bottle, something we didn't do, but a couple beside us did. There is no corkage charge and they offer a wine chiller too. On the whole, a great experience. A two course meal for four with soft drinks for just over £50. I think the BBQ sliders were worth that price alone. We will be back.

“A breath of fresh air for the Cregagh Road”
Reviewed March 4, 2012

Just what this road needs a top class restaurant within walking distance from where we live. We went last night as it was my birthday and the food was excellent. The soup was gorgeous and the Banoffee pie to die for. Steak was a little tough but the chips were gorgeous. We'll be back.

“Great food, great atmosphere and brilliant value for money”
Reviewed February 18, 2012

Myself and my boyfriend visited belvedere last night and I'm really pleased we gave it a go. The food was amazing for the price. All locally sourced and you could taste the freshness. We had the ham hock and rack of ribs-both were cooked to perfection and the meat just fell of the bone. We regularly eat in city centre restaurants which are more expensive but nowhere near as good quality. The owner served us and was very welcoming and friendly. With the added bonus of a byo policy we will definitely be back in the coming weeks.

“Great value - food just like you would want to make yourself, and can't fault the wine list for value...”
Reviewed February 10, 2012

Well - the reason that you can't fault the wine list for value is simple - it's BYO. So think about it - if you're out for an evening for two and you fancy a nice bottle of wine, go buy one for a tenner at a good off-license and take it here. You'll save £20 compared with what a reasonable restaurant would charge for the wine - and that will go a long way towards the cost of the food.

I understand the food is locally sourced as far as possible - and the only thing that I can say is that it tasted great. It's not really Polish any more - more Irish home cooking style I would think, but having said that the ham hock is mighty good and the chef is obviously happy with his ingredients as he was happy to prepare a very rare steak - just how I like it but you sadly find some restaurants bleating "health and safety".

Let's be honest - it's not haute cuisine, but it doesn't set out to be. It's value for money, it's friendly, and it's only a few minutes from the city centre by bus or taxi too.
