Stayed here a week ago with two friends as we were having a night out in Belfast and wanted somewhere cheap but decent to stay. We booked online through another company which I don't recommend doing, turns out it would've been cheaper if we contacted the hotel itself! But anyway, we booked a triple bedroom which consisted of a double bed, double sofa bed and ensuite bathroom.
When turning onto the street that our directions said would take us to the hotel we did get a bit apprehensive as it was rather dodgy looking but don't let that put you off!Security gate into the car park made us feel a bit more reassured anyway that nothing would happen the car.
Greeted at reception by two friendly members of staff and the guy who dealt with out check in was very helpful with answering our questions. Our room was clean, spacious and full of useful things such as a hairdryer, plenty of plugs, enough towels for us all and a three way mirror in the bathroom. The view from our room wasn't anything great but we were too busy to be looking out of it anyway. Rang down a few times to ask for an iron and to book a taxi but nothing was too much trouble for the cheery voice on the phone!
Breakfast buffet the next morning was great with plenty of choice from hot foods to bread to fruit and cereal - fair to say we needed it badly after our night out partying! We'll definitely be back again for another night out at some stage as its such good value for money and you don't even get a judgemental look when creeping back in at stupid o'clock in the morning!

Room Tip: Book directly with the hotel instead of using other sites

this hotel was much better than i was expecting for the price - as the price was so reasonable. we stayed for 2 nights (2 adults, 1 toddler and baby). the rooms were clean, bathroom looked brand new and with travel cot already made up for our baby on arrival. unlike many places we have stayed before there was a towel provided for the baby too. staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. the food was lovely, kids ate for free and a great range of breakfast available. we were travelling with another family and the hotel gave us adjoining rooms with a connecting door which came in very handy to separate noisy toddlers from sleeping babies etc. will definitely book holiday inn express again for our family holidays. only about 10-15 mins in a taxi from city airport.

A no frills option but a good base for an inexpensive trip for leisure or business. In the Queens Quarter close to the University and Botanic Garden, the area has a sort of boho charm with lots of students about.

My only reservations were the squeezy bottles of shower gel fixed to the walls rather than a proper tablet of soap, towels that were rather small and thin, and a breakfast that's rather basic. But a decent sized, modern room for the money.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with the Holiday Inn Express Belfast Queens Quarter. I am sorry to hear that you werent keen on the squeezy bottles of soap & shower gel in the bathrooms but these are a brand standard across all Holiday Inn Express hotels in the UK. I am glad though that the hotel was a good base for your visit & that you received good value for the money. I hope to see you back at the hotel in the future.

We enjoyed a pleasant 4 night stay, using this hotel as our base on a recent visit to Belfast. It's based within reasonable walking distance from the City centre (15-20minutes), or short cab ride approximately £5.00
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is excellent - excellent choice and quality of food, with extended availability to 12.00 at weekends
Staff were friendly and helpful. We have been before and will stay in the future

We stayed 2 nights - Sept 10th and 11th. Very comfortable beds - room was clean. Lobby and rooms are nice. Hallways are okay - renovation of rooms was well done. If you use the bathroom during the night you can't flush the toilet after about 1am - they turn off the system. Be warned.

While the area is very rough - there appears to be quite a bit of upgrading to some old buildings and housing in the neighborhood. I got the feeling it is on an upward growth. We enjoyed walking to City Centre from here. Side note - we enjoyed lovely meals at the Metro Brasserie using the Early Bird Special - excellent service and the food is over the top - 5* quality!

They allowed us to check in very EARLY i.e. before noon - very nice - but when I asked to put my credit card on file to pay because my daughter had reserved on her card I was told the room had already been charged on her card - for both nights. When returning home we find it was charged immediately to her card when she made the reservations - BAD! 30 days before we arrived.
