Holiday Inn Express Belfast City Queens Quarter
Ranked #24 of 45 Hotels in Belfast
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 7, 2012

We enjoyed a pleasant 4 night stay, using this hotel as our base on a recent visit to Belfast. It's based within reasonable walking distance from the City centre (15-20minutes), or short cab ride approximately £5.00
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is excellent - excellent choice and quality of food, with extended availability to 12.00 at weekends
Staff were friendly and helpful. We have been before and will stay in the future

Stayed here for 2 days, very clean hotel, excellent staff, very secure parking, excellent value. Would highly recommend it. Will be back soon for another stay! The hotel was very easy to find coming from Dublin.

We stayed 2 nights - Sept 10th and 11th. Very comfortable beds - room was clean. Lobby and rooms are nice. Hallways are okay - renovation of rooms was well done. If you use the bathroom during the night you can't flush the toilet after about 1am - they turn off the system. Be warned.

While the area is very rough - there appears to be quite a bit of upgrading to some old buildings and housing in the neighborhood. I got the feeling it is on an upward growth. We enjoyed walking to City Centre from here. Side note - we enjoyed lovely meals at the Metro Brasserie using the Early Bird Special - excellent service and the food is over the top - 5* quality!

They allowed us to check in very EARLY i.e. before noon - very nice - but when I asked to put my credit card on file to pay because my daughter had reserved on her card I was told the room had already been charged on her card - for both nights. When returning home we find it was charged immediately to her card when she made the reservations - BAD! 30 days before we arrived.

My husband and I travelled for 2 weeks through Ireland with our car and we have chosen this hotel as it is one of the few hotels in Belfast which have free car parking. In addition it has just a short walk distance to the city center. The breakfast was continental and cooked and a free daily newspaper was available. The staff at the reception booked even a sightseeing bus (hop on and off) for us with a pcik-up from the hotel to the nearest stopp included. We would always go back to this hotel.

We booked this for 2 night as my partner is a priority club member. On arrival the hotel is in a run down area, barbed wire on the car park fencing etc...
The hotel itself was clean and basic and full of stag/hen do's!

Our bed was really soft and uncomfortable and the bathroom was a bit smelly but apart from that it was ok and very spacious

The food was great and breakfast was excellent (very busy) the extended hours on the weekend, serving until 12noon was great.

Hotel is convenient to the university so ideal for us as we stayed for a week seeing our daughter settle in. Although the surrounding area was a bit run down, it was walking distance to the Uni and to some really good eateries such as Claudine's down the street (see separate review). Rooms are clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Free wifi and secured parking was a bonus especially during the daytime when street parking was difficult.
Breakfast was quite basic but adequate. Will stay here next time we are in Belfast.

Room Tip: We chose room 117 close to the lift and whilst facing the road was not as noisy as room 203

We had a very good time there.
The room was really spacious (it included a sofa) and confortable.
The hotel is near the city centre, only 15 minutes walk, and it also has a private and free car parking. In the way to the city centre there are some shops, supermarkets, take-away, restaurants and pubs.
We felt very welcome.
