Stayed here for the 4th time with my wife and 12 year old on Friday 17th Aug. Once again I could not fault this excellent budget hotel. Staff friendly and helpful, lovely buffet breakfast, clean room, ice machine in lobby and free secure off street parking.
Will definitely stay here again next time we are visiting belfast.

Room Tip: All the rooms are spotless, you could however ask for one with a view over the city.

Arrived early morning - staff happy for us to leave the car in the car park while we visited the Titanic Exhibition and city. Room was good - had a great nights sleep and a good breakfast the next morning. Breakfast is not as varied as a big hotel but there was plenty of choice and the food was lovely - you just helped yourself.

Excellent choice for value for money as well as enjoying a good nights sleep, good breakfast and central location - you can't go wrong with this hotel and the staff are lovely.

My husband, three children and I stayed here for two nights earlier this month. We had two adjoining rooms, both double beds with additional pull out sofas. The rooms were fairly small, but modern, and fairly clean. The location of the hotel was convenient to attractions like the Botanic Gardens and there were lots of restaurants and cafes just two blocks away on Botanic Avenue. Other attractions were within a 10 minute walk to the city center. University Street at times felt a little deserted, as most students were gone for the summer and construction work had the street closed to parking and two-way traffic. I am sure there would be much more hustle and bustle if classes were in session and construction were done.

Service we encountered during our stay was very good. Glen, the front desk clerk and a Clay Aiken look-alike, patiently repeated himself as I tried to understand an issue with my rewards points along with his accent. Later, we needed linens for both sofa beds in our rooms. Both Glen and a lovely young lady came up to the room promptly to take care of our needs.

If you stay here be sure to eat at Scalini on Botanic Avenue. This place has great Italian food. Check out my review for more details.

As a budget hotel this was ok. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Hotel clean. Free, secure parking was a bonus in a city hotel. Location a bit run down but some good restaurants within a short walk especially Molly's Yard. Breakfast was included with good choice available. Bed in double room was small and room was quite dark. The only real problem was the noise in the hotel - room doors slam very easily and sound seems to carry a long way. Also a lot of street noise throughout the night on Friday.

We've been to plenty of HI express before, and had no issues here. The staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and set out as we needed. Breakfast was fine, the self-service buffet includes hot food now and is all the better for it. We tried a few different brands of hotel during the trip, but should probably stick to what we know suits our family, and this brand generally delivers.

We found this hotel excellent value for money, we needed two joining rooms and this was no problem. We found the staff efficient, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a varied choice. We had a lovely dinner and the kids thought their dinner was delicious. The room was clean and suited purpose. I would have no problem staying in this hotel again. Belfast is a wonderful city with fantastic people and I will return.

I thought this hotel was an excellent value. Breakfast was hearty and tasted great. This was an extremely handy way to start the day since we didn't have to wander around or think much in search of food. Plus it was available until 12 which I thought to be a generous serving time, as other hotels I've stayed in in the past would stop food at 10 am or 11.

Free Wifi was available at a strong signal and it was close to the city center. Cab rides would cost me just 5 pounds or so to get me where I needed to go throughout Belfast. Free parking was available too which was very very handy since we had rented a car to travel north with.

The rooms were spacious and clean as were the bathrooms. The beds were comfy.

My only complaint was that people were quite noisy. They'd hang in the parking lot in the evening making drunken noises. Also the cleaning staff was very very noisy as they let the closet door on the floor slam shut every time they used it. This was very loud and would sometimes wake us up in the morning.
