“Great Self-Catering Apartments”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Excellent self-catering apartments, ideal for our large family gathering. 3 bedroomed apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Slept like a log! Thought it would be closer to the hotel but once we got our bearings it wasn't too bad. Still a good location for Lisburn Rd and Queens University area. Our cleaner was a gentleman and he certainly does a good job.

My second stay here on business. On this occasion allocated an apartment across the road from the hotel. Room was spacious, with separate bedroom and bathroom. Good facilities, spacious and clean, although did prefer the room in the hotel on previous stay as hotel facilities more easily accessible.
Had Sunday lunch in the restaurant and the food was very good - would recommend. Breakfast was disappointing. There were no tables available as very busy and so I was given a table in the main reception area. Felt a little conspicuous there on my own, facing the main doors of the dining room with people staring as they came out. The quality of food was average.
All things considered, would stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location, close to shopping and other attractions. Located on a nice quiet street, with plenty of free parking and a great on-site restaurant, it's great value for a reasonable price. Nice, clean comfortable rooms and super-friendly staff.

Stayed in Malone Lodge with my wife whilst visiting Belfast. Excellent hotel....which has just been re-furbished and to a very high standard!! Staff were very friendly and attentive. We got a beautiful room located across the road from main hotel building. The room was great...very spacious and had a massive bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Really really enjoyed our stay here and we will return again soon. Would defo recommend this hotel to anyone....well located and good parking facilities at rear of hotel.

My Mum & I stayed here last weekend for 1 night. We were very happy with our choice of hotels in Belfast. It is on a lovely tree lined road. A short walk from Lisburn road with many quaint shops, cafes and bistros and a 5 minute walk to the Botanic Gardens & the Ulster Museum. It is around a 25 minute walk to the city centre or a £5.00 taxi fare. All the hotel staff we came across were so efficient, professional and friendly. The original room we were given was lovely - clean & spacious but above the kitchen fans and we're light sleepers. When I requested a change if possible (due to noise) we were upgraded to a super suite within no time at all. The foyer is a really nice spot to unwind in with a drink from the bar after a busy day sightseeing in the city. When we arrived at the hotel, the Receptionist booked a courtesy shuttle bus for us to be collected from the hotel and brought in to the city centre to join the Open Top Bus tour (which we'd highly recommend - a great way to see what is where in the city). The breakfast on the Sunday morning was very tasty and the restaurant itself is very nice and comfortable. There was plenty of choice on the menu and at the buffet table. We could not fault this hotel on anything. It met all our needs and was excellent value for money. When we go back to Belfast, we will definitely stay here again. P.S. - Parking is no problem. They have a car park behind the hotel with 75 spaces approx and there are no restrictions on the street the hotel is located. We parked up on the street Saturday morning and didn't go back for the car until Sunday evening. Clamp & fine free! :-)

Anyone working near and around the Eglantine Avenue area should make it their business to have lunch at the Malone Lodge's Knife and Fork restaurant.
Offering a smorgasbord of energy foods, greens, cold meats, prawn and pasta salads as well as a selection of hot dishes, there is something for all tastes and diets. My personal favourite was the Morrocan-style quinoa salad with figs and it was recommended by Tony, our waiter, who took time to talk us through the menu. Needless to say, the service was superb.
The restaurant itself is modern but still has a quintessential charm that is fitting with its location on Eglantine's tree-lined avenue.
A lovely lunchtime respite for any day of the week!

We had lunch on a June Sunday at Knife and Fork, Malone Lodge, as we had been tempted by the Menu offering Sunday Carvery for £11.

We both ordered the Rib of Roast Irish Beef. This was served on a long oblong plate, two slices of very good beef. Usually we have found that a hotel Sunday carvery has slabs of rubbery meat, but not here. The prime beef was accompanied by an individual jug of delicious home made jus/gravy, and a roast potato, creamed potato and perfectly cooked carrot, parsnip and peas.

Service was good and attentive. We will go back very soon. Good to see quality like this in Belfast on a Sunday.
