We arrived on the Saturday afternoon to be met with a wedding party in full swing, and told that due to an accident with the building works next door, all available apartments were full. Considering that we had just driven for 6 hours up from Roundstone in Galway, this was not the ideal news. However, one of the Duty Managers, Stephen, apologised and explained the situation where he would give us a choice of rooms for the evening and we could move into our apartment sometime on Sunday. He also informed me that he would provide a free drink in the bar when we came back down and a complimentary breakfast the following morning - this was on top of upgrading our apartment to a suite. We had dinner in the hotel that night and the service was very good, especially a waiter named Tony. The bedroom was very comfortable and we did not hear any noise at all coming from the wedding party.Breakfast was a bit of a mess, as we had to ask a member of staff to take our order after various guests who arrived later were served before us - once again Tony the waiter was "busting his chops" trying to get everyone served while the other female members of staff were content to go at their own pace. I got the impression that there were not enough staff on duty to cope with the amount of guests for breakfast. After visiting the city centre we returned to the hotel and asked to be shown the apartment before we moved, it was on the ground floor virtually next door to the hotel and it was very good with a large living room with kitchen area, a substantial bathroom and a large bedroom - this would more than make up for anything that happened previously. I found overall that the Malone is in an ideal spot ( apart from the building work going on) with a varied choice of restaurants within easy walking distance and more than not the hotel staff were very good.I read in another review a complaint about air con, would I suggest just open a couple of windows if it seems too warm. On checking out, I asked the receptionist to pass on my congratulations to Stephen for rescuing a very tricky situation, especially when he clearly had his hands full dealing with a large and boisterous wedding party.

Room Tip: Initially we were in a room on the first floor with a good view over the tree-lined avenue, and even...

I enjoyed my one night stay in one of the suites here. Room was clean and modern with a large whirlpool bathroom. Main thing was friendly and helpful staff who could not be faulted. Nice range of items on breakfast menu. Would definitely stay agin

It looked like lost and found hadnt got anyroom to put the jacket. So any thing you like just be careful as other people may like it as well .when you checkout they dont want to know you as they are under staffed and its not there problem as you left it in the room

I travelled with a group of girls for the weekend. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment down the road at Malone mews and have to say we couldn't fault it. 3 lovely big bedrooms, 2 double, one with ensuite and a twin. A very well equipped kitchen and lounge, haidryers iron and board everything a group of girls could need. Really loved it so we were looking forward to our final night stay in the main hotel and first impressions of the room were great, until we actually spent some tome in there and noticed the cleanliness left a bit to be desired. Our cups were soldered to the saucers with stale coffee, stains on the ceiling and carpet and something horrid on the sink plug!!. The breakfast, the bar and the staff i have to say are lovely. We did leave comments at the end of our stay and the manager did apologise. All in all a good stay. It wouldn't put me off staying again which I suppose is the best measure you can have.

Stayed here for one night in September. The hotel is in a very good location in Belfast, the bedroom was very comfortable and clean and the staff (particularly the receptionist on duty) were very friendly and welcoming. The only complaint I had was that the cooked bacon and sausages at breakfast were not good, undercooked and very poor quality.

Stayed here for one night at the weekend, accomadation was excellent, comfortable, spotlessly clean. The breakfast basket was adequate. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it especially for younger people and small groups of friends.
