“The perfect weekend stay at the Europa Hotel”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

I booked three double rooms at the Europa. We all arrived , and checked in, the staff were lovely. We really enjoyed a few cocktails on the first floor after each days shopping, it was a lovely area with a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was great , there was a very good selection to choose from, it set us up for the day. The hotel is in a great location, everything was within walking distance .All in all we could not fault it ,the six of us are booking to stay at the Europa for same weekend in 2014

My husband and I stay in the Europa about 3 times a year and we used to love it there, particularly because of the friendly and helpful staff. Our last visit left us a bit disappointed, the young reception staff was by far not as friendly and helpful as the staff we are used to, everything seemed to be a task and unlike before every little extra was subject to a hefty charge. We booked a bed and breakfast plus dinner package. The dinner was poor, particularly the main course lacked flavour and the portion size was not appropriate for adults. I think for us it is time check out a different hotel when coming to Belfast.

Dear Tanja912,

Thank you for leaving your comments on tripadvisor. I am disapoointed to hear of the treatment you received at our reception desk on your recent stay. We have invested heavily in the training of excellent customer service in recent years and have reaped the benefits of concentrating on such an integral part and with great concentration on the front desk. This is certainly not the experience that we wish out guests to experience and it saddens me to hear such comments. I can assure you that this is not the normal service that is experienced as you can agree from the previous stays that you have had with us. Our front office Manager has addressed these comments and taken them up with the relevant staff members to ensure there is not a repeat performance.
I am also sorry to hear that the food was not suitabe to yourselves either. The restaurant is very successful and has earnt a reputation for producing fine quality dishes using only locally sourced produce. This is certainly not reflective of the feedback we usually receive with regard to the food in the restaurant. The Head Chef is very passionate and you can be assured that he will be monitoring this very closely to ensure our reputation is maintained.
Please be assured this was most certainly an isolated affair and please do not judge us solely on this visit.

Thank you again for your very useful feedback and hope you will return to Europa in the future as we very much value your custom. On your next visit please contact me directly on marketing@eur.hastingshotels.com where I will ensure your faith is restored.

Many thanks

Lynsey Carroll

Stayed a Saturday night in November with a group of girls. Great location, friendly staff, lovely foyer and bar was buzzing. Only downfall was had a standard double room which was very small and bathroom has a frosted glass door which does not give much privacy and also quite small. I have spoken to others that have stayed here and they advise to book an executive double as opposed to standard.

I would highly recommend the Europa hotel. Its very central to shops, restaurants and transport links. There is a friendly buzz in the hotel and all the staff are very helpful. Linda on the reception is exceptional at her jobs and very friendly! I've stayed in this hotel 4 times and I would recommend it highly.

We recently stayed for a two night break in the Europa whilst on a shopping trip from Dublin. We drove by car and parked behind the hotel which cost us £30.00 from Friday to Sunday, there was four of us so it wasn’t too much but might be a bit steep for others. If you wanted to take the bus and train the stations are right beside the hotel. The hotel itself is gorgeous, spotlessly clean and the staff are lovely. The room was immaculate if not a tad bit small but as we were shopping we weren’t spending a huge amount of time there. We opted not to have breakfast in the hotel as it was £16.00 per person per day which I think is rather expensive, although we were told by the receptionist we could get a voucher that would enable us to have breakfast for £10.00. We stayed on a very busy weekend, there seemed to be quite a lot of Christmas parties taking place in the hotel that particularly weekend but there was plenty of staff around to keep everything in order. The only negative thing and its not the hotel’s fault was that there was quite a bit of noise from guests attending the Christmas parties having had one too many heading back to their rooms banging on doors and talking quite loudly but having stayed here before this was just a one off.

I love Belfast and the people and I will definitely stay here again as it is very central and I would highly recommend it to anyone for a stay it is a stunning hotel.

Room Tip: We got a room at the back of the hotel facing the carpark and it was very quiet.

We recently stayed for a two night break in the europa , we travelled up by train as we didn't want the hassle of parking in the city , and this turned out to be a wise decision as the train station (Victoria central) is just a five minute walk , the room was small , but fine for a few days break , with a lovely view over the city , breakfast was great with a wide selection , and a little booklet on each table ,explaining the produce and where it came from of most of the ingredients on the menu , We had one evening meal ,whitch was great , and the waitress was so helpful and polite , we had one negative while staying , we were woken at 5am on our first morning by the fire alarm , it seemed to go on forever ,couldn't get answer from reception , ( but I guess they were busy with everybody calling at the same time , )so we got dressed and went downstairs , lots of stairs as obviously the lifts were out of action,as I have some difficulty walking this was a nightmare , only to be told go back to bed , it was a little bit scary as all I was thinking at the time was this is the most bombed hotel in the country ,, but its better to safe than sorry ,no mention of this when we checked out , still enjoyed our stay in this hotel even if we were too tired to do much on our second day ,but if we're lucky enough to stay in belfast again I would stay in this hotel , and I would have no hesitation in recommending to friends
