“Great location for station, airport and Shopping”
Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

I stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel looks lively at night and the Christmas feel is warm and welcoming. The staff are really friendly and efficient. Irish hospitality is always apparent. My room was 10th floor and looked clean and comfy. The bed was lovely but the room was a little small. The heating didn't go on once so I was cold when not in bed....the hairdryer came in handy!!
I wish there was a decent light next to the mirror as its a nightmare doing make up and hair in bad lighting...
The bathroom was nice. Fluffy towels and plenty of toiletries...but the shower head needed serious 're adjustment. ...
I can't fault the staff here, they are great but I think it's more 3★ than 4★
I ate in the causary restaurant and was very unimpressed. I would NEVER pay a £5 TRAY charge for room service with this standard of food. Shame but they need my meatball recipe urgently!

My main upset was that when I checked in I should have been told about the Christmas party on the 12th floor and how noisy it would be and that I would be kept awake till 4am with shouting banging swearing and general bad behaviour. I had a 6am flight.

Dear ClarenceofKent,

All of us at the hotel love working here, especially at Christmas time and delighted to know that we were able to pass on that Christmassy feeling to you through our friendly and efficient team and delivering the finest in Irish Hospitality.
Our classic rooms are our smallest room type. If you like a room with a bit more space, try our superior rooms for a snippet more. The heating is programmed in our rooms and has been on throughout at sufficient times in the day. There is a radiator behind the curtain where the heating can be adjusted to your liking.
Thank you for your comments on lighting, we are currently working through all the rooms to ensure sufficent lighting.
I am also sorry to hear that you were not impressed with the food offering from your room service request. Our Head Chef will be monitoring this closely to ensure our high food quality is maintained. Thank you for bring this to my attention.
Unfortunately along with the Christmassy feeling comes high spirits and partying. We are a busy City Centre Hotel with function rooms catering for Christmas parties and I am sorry if this disturbed your sleep. Our security team patrol the hotel and manage the situation as best as they can. If you ever experience such behaviour, please notify and we will take care of the situation.
Thank you again for your comments and look forward to seeing you again.

Many thanks

stayed on business for 2 nights recently and whilst I agree with others about the quality of the facilities including food and drink I did feel that some of the staff were a little indifferent to customer need at time and there was a certain coolness about some of them. There was little anticipation of customer requirements. The hotel is well located which is probably why I was told by one of the staff (with some apparent relish) that it was the most bombed hotel in Belfast - now there's a claim to fame.............

Room Tip: higher floors - great view of the city

Dear James_Bethel,

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. I am shocked to hear of your feedbck on the attitude of the staff that you experienced whilst here. The majority of our staff are always keen to help and are friendly and efficient and anticpate guests needs very well. Thank you for bringing this to matter to my attention and a customer focus reemphasis will be deployed to ensure that the good work of the Europa staff is not affected by that of whom you encountered.

Many thanks

Hotel lovely, rooms very small and basic for such a big hotel, the bar very pricey but Supose that's the city for you. Would stay again but only if I hog s cheap deal. The staff very friendly another fault that do not tell you when you booking that there is no car park, you have to park in carpark around the corner.

Dear Tina H,

Thanks for reviewing us on trip advisor. I am enthused to hear that you found both the hotel and the staff lovely.
I am sorry to hear that you did not find value for money in the city. Please try an upgrade to superior next time if you wish to have more space.
Like most city centre hotels we do not have our own car park but what we do offer is valet parking from our concierge. You pull your car outside the front of the hotel and our concierge will park it for you and whenever you need it back they will have it waiting out the front, ready for you, all for 24hour rate of £16.

Many thanks

Came back for our annual visit for a short Christmas break. We have stayed at the Europa for the last 6 years or so. In short this Hotel and its staff never disappoint - what helpful warm people they really are. The staff make us so welcome in all areas of the hotel. We'll be back again next year or sooner if we can.

We returned for our annual rugby/shopping trip to Belfast. Once again we choose the Europa because of the service we had previously received.
On arrival an early checkin was not problem - They even remembered us. We had chosen to stay in a suite following an upgrade on one of our previous stays and it was well worth the extra couple of quid. A beautiful living room, a sumptious bedroom, a fantastic bathroom and a second toiltet. All mod cons included - 2 TVs, 2 docking stations, double sinks, double showers - I could go on...
While the ladies went shopping we went to the rugby match. After dinner in a local restaurant we returned to the piano bar were the atmosphere was buzzing. After a few drinks a few of the Ulster Rugby players arrived and were happy for us to take photos.
A sound nights sleep followed, although some wally set the fire alarm off - but we can't blame the hotel for that.
Breakfast was fantastic with even the option of a bloody mary for the cure.
We'll be back again soon.
Thanks to the team for looking after us so well.

Dear Terry McCartney,

Thank you for leaving a review on trip advisor. Glad you enjoyed the best suite in the house and that the hospitality and atmosphere matched the suite fit for a king.
Thank you for your understanding with regards to the fire alarm. It truly isn't our fault and thank you for your patience.
I am also happy to hear we provided you with a great breakfast- not to mention the fact you are a brave man to tackle a Bloody Mary so early in the morning.... well if you require it, we will do our very best to make it happen.
Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Many thanks

This hotel is in a prime location in Belfast city centre. It is spotless clean with very friendly and helpful staff. The food is excellent. Pop into the lobby bar for some fantastic entertainment from the live band. The beds are very comfy and our room was quiet so we enjoyed a good night's sleep. Although the hotel does not have it's own car park; the great northern car park is directly behind the hotel and very reasonably priced. We parked our car there from 1pm on Sat to 10am on Sunday for just under £10. Exit through the Europa bus centre and pick up an "Enjoy" card from the Cancer Focus N.I. charity desk for just £3 and you will not only be helping out a worthy local charity, you will also benefit from a 15% discount on your food bill in the Europa hotel's restaurant. Thanks to the Europa for supporting this great cause.
