I stayed in teh Hiltong in Belfast recently and would like to say how great the staff were. They were friendly, helful and always smiling.
The hotel is ideally suited for a city break and the room I had was large, clean and very comforable.
Paddy provided delicious porridge each morning, Gerard greeted me with a smile and Kristoffer in the bar was delightful...I WILL be back.

We stayed at the Hilton Belfast during the last weekend of February, as we wanted to have a weekend exploring a city we knew nothing about.

We had booked the Hilton as it is one of the few 5* hotels in the city and we had got a great deal (£69 per night including breakfast) as part of the Hilton January Sale.

A Hilton though is pretty much a Hilton wherever in the world you are. The Hilton Belfast is not really any different inside to many other Hiltons around the world, but it does benefit from a great location next to the Waterfront Hall on the river and only a few minutes from the city centre.

We were fortunate to be upgraded to an executive room on our arrival (probably more to do with the fact that the hotel was full on the first night and we were staying for two nights, rather than us being Hilton Honours members) which was nice, as it meant having just a little more space. We also had a fantastic view of the river and ship building yards. It was interesting to note though that the television was in place at the foot of the bed – scratches on the television unit where previous occupants had dragged the television around, suggest (as I suspected) that like me, not everyone wants to watch television exclusively from their bed!

As a base to explore the city, the Hilton is an excellent choice. The rooms are comfortable and well stocked (although the usual gripes about the cost of internet and feature films are present as always). Breakfast was superb, both days and the service was excellent. The restaurant also over looks the river and we lounged for a good two hours on the Sunday morning really enjoying a relaxing breakfast.

For – Location and breakfast.
Against – Not much to grumble about, although the previous occupant had clearly chosen to ignore the no smoking policy, hung out of the window, but still let the smoke waft in. Not really Hilton’s fault, but thought housekeeping might have done a little more to disguise the smell and, had the hotel not been full, I would have asked to swap rooms.

Good Hotel, great location, right beside the Waterfront, nice room, friendly and efficient staff. Lovely breakfast with nice view from dining room. However, it put a very bad taste in our mouths when asked for £18 for parking the car overnight and that was with a discount. Have never paid for parking when a hotel guest before. Won't be back, despite the great location.

We booked the Hilton for 2 nites. We were given a room on the 4th floor lovely view of the river but i found the room very shabby and old fashioned. We had been travelling since 4am so wanted a nap before dinner, but the bed was extremety hard, we werent happy about this so i rang reception and the receptionist apologised and offered to change our room to a newly refurbished room which was on the 1st floor. What a difference! the bed was amazing it had a pillow mattress and was so comfy! They really need to refurbish the rest of the hotel! Breakfast is lovely plenty to choose from.

We ate in the bar that nite and it was very nice, lots to choose from the menu.

The staff were extremely friendly and gave us a map of the city and pointed out various bars and restaurants.

We walked to the bars on both nites and found it was very safe.

Parking in the hotel is very expensive! 18 pounds per nite and thats with a discount!!

You cant flag cabs in this city only the black cabs and they rip you off!! Hackney cabs cant stop for people which we found very strange, they are much cheaper! But there are black cabs lined up on every corner even if they do charge more at least you get back to your hotel!

The Odessy Arena is only a 10 min walk from hotel and if you walk along the docks you will come to the Titantic Pump house and dry dock. They are doing up this area at the moment, there will be a Titantic museum opened in 2012.

Belfast is a very clean city and has some great bars & restaurants and more importantly the shopping is brilliant, Victoria Square is brilliant!!

I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Belfast. The staff here was superb, from check-in to check-out. The location is good, just a few blocks walk to everything. The stay didn't start out perfect, I had some problems with the internet and heating in my room, and after calling down 3 times, I was finally moved to a different room. After that, everything went smoothly. The lounge had a good selection of snacks and beverages. The lady working in the lounge was lovely! She was very nice and helpful. The lobby bar/restaurant had decent food. As a Diamond guest I did receive free breakfast buffet in the morning. The breakfast was wonderful! I highly recommend staying here if you're going to be in Belfast.

Stayed there 2 nights. Beds need to be replaced. There was no hot water in the morning. Furniture has stains and the hallway walls are scratched. Younger employees need more training. The concierge was fantastic as well as the location.
Internet prices are outrageous. Stay here if there is a good deal. Its close to the train station. This area is not considered very safe.

My husband and I stayed in the Belfast Hilton for three nights recently. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially Donna in the executive suite. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, from the front desk to the restaurant. We had dinner at the hotel one evening and we found the food and service to be excellent. The concierge was extremely helpful, given that this was our first visit to Belfast and we wanted to see as many of the local sights as possible. I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone.
