Cathedral quarter is a good example of what Belfast has become. Many years ago there was nothing in this area, but today it is buzzing with bars and restaurants. It is a small area, so don't expect to be walking around for a long time, but is therefore compact and easy to find a nice bar and place to eat. The Spaniard is a favourite if you can get in. Best times to go are through the week, weekend nights will be very busy, but a great place to chill with a glass of rioja. The Cloth ear is bigger and busier, a great place to meet and mingle. Berts Jazz bar is great for a slightly older crowd, live jazz music every night from 9pm - 11pm. Beautiful old bar decorated in lush 1920s style.

Our Hotel - the Ramada Encore, was located in this quarter. This is a good location both during the day and the evening. Plenty of restaurants and bars, and easy walking access to the town centre.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms quiet and beds comfortable. Walked everywhere from Titanic to city shopping centres. Great restaurants and bars nearby. Substantial breakfast if required.

Stayed in the Premier Inn in the Cathedral Quarter and it is a very nice area with some upmarket eateries and pubs. A nice area to stay when visiting Belfast.
