It had been several years since we had visited the Ulster Museum, but recent favorable experiences took us back no less than three visits in recent weeks. We feel privileged to have such convenient access to this world class facility. In particular the Natural History section offers a wonderful look at local wildlife. The Royal Ulster Academy show was a an added bonus to our most recent visit.

A great day out with the grandchildren they loved the Dinosaurs, The Egyptian Mummy and he Birds display. The museum has something for everyone at every age and all will enjoy the visit. Allow two hours for the visit and finish the visit with a coffee at the cafe located on the ground floor.A great day out and entrance to museum is free.

They did an amazing re-furb of this place a few years ago and turned what was once a pretty drab and uninspiring museum into a world-class attraction that is a must-see for any visitor to the city and best of all, it's free admission. It's a beautiful building, nice and airy and the design is stunning. I've been so many times now and still see new things on every visit. I think the key is to start on a different floor every time you visit. The art workshops on the 5th floor are wonderful for kids. The staff are really nice and there are loads of activities for the kids to take part in.

The Ulster Museum remains one of my favourite places to visit in Belfast. It is easy to get to and what better can you get than free admission. You could easily spend a day in here and is a great place for people to get a full understanding of the History of Belfast and indeed the history of Ireland.

It goes right back to the Ice Age and then works its way forwards to today's events. Usually there is some type of gallery on display from local artists. The staff are friendly and helpful. For those that have small children there is plenty for them to do as well.

The only people I see there who don't really want to be there is teenagers but I guess that is generally normal in any type of educational establishment.
