“Great rainy day activity”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The staff were friendly and helpful. There's lots to see. We spent over an hour in the pre-history section alone. The layout is interesting as well. Access for disabled individuals is not a problem.

“Ulster Museum. It is truly historical.”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Ulster museum can appear like any other museum when you first walk in. Let's face it, if you've seen one dinosaur you've seen them all. The history of the conflict in Northern Ireland can be better explained by a black taxi ride however for me the historical collection of items from long ago was a real eye opener. They have everything you could think of from coins (in excellent condition) found from the Spanish days, a great range of early Irish life artifacts and a well explained history to go with the displays. Make sure you allow yourself at least 2 hours to be able to see everything or you will walk away disappointed. Being from Australia where we have very little history of our own cultures, the whole place was something to absorb. they have actual swords on display made in early 600's where Australia was not discovered until 1770. Entry Is free, it will only cost you you're time. Go for it.

“Excellent museum with lots to see and do”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

We visited the Ulster Museum in September and we both loved it, it has everything from information about the troubles to dinosaur bones to the famous Takabuti mummy. You won't be disappointed if you visit, it's free to get in (there are donation boxes if you want to put something in) and there are lots of people who are there to answer any questions to have about anything in the museum, all in all a great place to visit and would easily pass a few hours. A+++++++

The museum is great, suitable to all ages, it keeps you interested through every exhibit. Particularly liked the natural history exhibit and dinosaur skeletons. All in all a great day was spent here and would recommend it to anyone.
