Owner description: Come face to face with dinosaurs, meet an ancient Egyptian mummy and see modern masterpieces with a visit to the Ulster Museum. As Northern Ireland's treasure house of the past and present, the museum is home to a rich collection of art, history and natural sciences with impressive galleries and interactive discovery zones. From Ireland to the South Pacific, ancient relics to modern masterpieces, the Ulster Museum offers something for everyone from the simply curious to the enthusiast.

A diverse exhibition showcasing some of the most prolific of Irish artists today. A wide diversity of exhibits, from the sublime to the artistically ridiculous (''I could have done that!!'') but a great exhibition. I'm inspired to dig out whats under my bed....seriously though, a really great show and with the artists themselves (Joe Mc Williams was there on my visit) there on certain dates to talk you round the gallery, it really is well worth a visit. The museum itself is an absolute treat for old and young alike.

We visitied our friend who is studying at Queens University and we recommended by several locals to visit Ulster museum. We were amazed at how much there was to see - we spent several hours there and wished we could have stayed longer. The mummy is amazing! The staff were very helpful and the rooms very well laid out to make it interesting to a wide audience. Would definitely visit again.

The sandwiches were overwhelmed by the bread, the service a little shoddy, the tables were dirty, and the wine was merely palatable. For the price and location, we were expecting more.

This place is great! There is no admission and a wide range of interesting subjects - from the Troubles and Irelands early history to marine wildlife and arts - is covered. The presentation is very nice and there are "Do-it-yourself"-areas for each theme that are very interesting for children and the young at heart. A must-see in Belfast in my opinion - plus it is located in the beautiful zoological garden!

Loved the extensive history and natural history exhibits. My seven year old spent ages on the interactive bits and just looking at everything in wonder. This is a really impressive museum for all ages.
