one of the drab arterial routes into belfast centre. large murals but little else. mirrored in other areas...... perhaps worth at quick bus tours that belfast has on offer.

“Fascinating Place”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

Before writing this review I browsed through what others thought of the Falls Road as a tourist attraction in Belfast. The murals are fascinating and yes the area does have a rough and rather depressing feel to it. However it must be remembered that these places despite their appeal to tourists are first and foremost the homes of ordinary citizens as it must be remembered that many of the conflicts within the troubles were fought largely on ordinary streets and in highly 'working class' communities.
Personally I found the rustic appearance of the Falls Road and its murals an accurate reflection of Belfast's character; a bustling city trying to rebuild itself from a period of internal turmoil, whilst honouring those who sacrificed their freedom and as the Bobby Sands mural reminds us their lives for their cause. I will note here that I am neutral to the political divide in Northern Ireland; I feel the exact same way about the murals honouring Loyalist patrons in the neighbouring Shankhill Road.

Must visit and talk with folks on the street, in the shops to see how it was and how it is since the Good Friday Agreement.

This is an other horrible area of Belfast. People like to visit here to see the famous murals but that is all it has to offer. the rest of it has a rundown depressed, threating feel about it
