Both Falls Rd. and Shankhill hold so much history. Neither trip is a fun-filled one, but rather a sobering reminder of how religion and politics can end in bloodshed. Note- I didnt take the Black Cab tours that are popular- I traveled with a local, but I never felt unsafe- even in the areas where there was zealous nationalism (not commenting on whether it was the Republic or Loyalist section). The murals are striking so take the time to visit as much as you can.
