Owner description: The Lyric Theatre is Northern Ireland's full-time producing theatre. The new theatre opened in May 2011 to great critical acclaim. The award winning building is built in traditional Belfast red brick, glass and iroko wood and the cafe bar offer beautiful views over the River Lagan and Stranmillis Embankment. The theatre is open seven days a week with performances usually running in the evenings from Tuesday through to Saturday and matinees on Saturday and Sundays. Contact our box office for more details or check online under "What's On". Our cafe serves coffee/tea and light lunches and is open every day. A brunch menu is available on Sunday mornings. As well theatrical productions, we also offer backstage tours, a programme of theatre school and professional learning and corporate hospitality. Pre-theatre dining is available on Friday and Saturday evenings. Free Wifi is availble

An architectural marvel that lends gravitas to any production. The Lyric is well positioned by the Laganside while the interior of the building is well thought out and a conversation piece in itself. The performance spaces are well designed and acoustically good. Parking is a n issue though so leave the car at home. An under appreciated Belfast landmark

Thank you so much for your very generous feedback.

We feel greatly privileged to work in a building such as the Lyric. The facility was recently shortlisted for the Stirling prize, the greatest architectural prize the UK has to offer, and we think this was only just. The finish inside the building is one aspect that very often receives praise, and we especially receive a lot of comments from stakeholders regarding the attention to detail and how it continues all the way through the building. Even in the back stage areas, one part of theatre design which is often dedicated less time and effort, we're proud to say the finish is exquisite.

We're sorry to hear your comments about parking at the Lyric. Whilst we have no designated parking for the theatre, a plethora of spaces can often be found in the free public car park next to Stranmillis roundabout, especially during the evening. This is only a few minutes walk from the theatre entrance.

This is a very nice ensue with two stages. We attended Brendan at Chelsea in November 2013 and had previously been to see The Importance of Being Earnest. Both were wrongful productions in a theatre with excellent acoustics, a generous stage and unrestricted viewing.

Thanks so much for your feedback.

We are very proud of our facility and even more proud to say that a seat in either of our performances will always offer a decent view. As the previous email suggests, we like to think that even those few seats which are marked as having a restriction are extremely good value for money.

We hope to see you again soon at the Lyric. You saw two great productions, so can't wait to hear what you think of your third trip!

As I'm a fan of The Quare Fella, when I heard that "Brendan at the Chelsea" was on here, I decided to go. It about 2 miles from the center of Belfast, but you can catch a number 8A bus from Donegall Square East, that'll have you up there, in about 10 minutes.

It's a purpose built theatre in a residential area, and you'd never expect to find it in this area. However, it's a beautiful, modern building, and its kept very well. I had phoned a few weeks back about tickets, and the very helpful chap on the phone, told me, that if we came to the theatre about an hour before the matinee on Sunday, we'd probably get tickets for a tenner each. But, he said we might have a restricted view.

We decide to chance it, so up we go to the ticket desk, and enquire about tickets. The young lady informs me that there are only 2 tickets left, so we take them. Twenty pounds total. Can't beat that. We get directed to our seats, and to our surprise, we find that they are very comfortable, kinda like a box seat, in which we had to lean over at times, to see what was happening to the left of the set. But trust me, these were good seats. A lot of times at the theatre, the seats are not comfortable, and your glad when the show is over, not so at the Lyric.

The show was very good, with Adrian Dunbar as Brendan, who was excellent, and I'd urge anyone who has an opportunity of catching it, to go. It's very Dublin, and the one-liners will have you laughing out loud. It got a standing ovation, and it deserved it. A great afternoon was had, and we will definitely return again, maybe for "Philadelphia here I come" early next year. The only complaint I have about it is, there is no taxi rank outside, although the bus stop is not far.

Wow, we really appreciate you taking the time to give us this feedback.

First of all, wonderful to hear that you had a good experience at the Lyric. We were extremely proud of Brendan at the Chelsea which received very high acclaim on every leg of its international tour. It is, we believe, a very engaging play about an incredibly interesting character.

We are also glad about you were able to make use of our Sunday Standby initiative, which we would love to get the word out about! Indeed, Sunday matinees at 2.30pm offer a ten pound ticket price for all Lyric productions (exclusions may apply on visiting productions) and members of the public can see top class work for this price by booking between 12 and 2 on the day.

You are completely right, the theatre is very accesible from the city centre, a number of services stop on Stranmillis Road, and the ride is only around 15 mins. Alternatively a taxi is likely to cost only around £5 outside of rush hour.

We are disappointed to say we don't have our own taxi rank, however, we do have a taxi free phone at the box office, and our box office staff are always happy to help you organise your onward journey.

We look forward to maybe seeing you at Philadelphia, Here I Come in the new year. And don't forget, if you also book to see the other half of our Friel double billing 'Molly Sweeney' you receive 20% off with the code 'Friel'.

Please let us know if you're calling down!

Attend the theatre regularly. Very pleasant surroundings, helpful staff and good theatre facilities. Programme does be varied so there should be something to suit most people at some time.

The programme in this theatre is innovative but also has the traditional plays included.

The restaurant has a great view over the River Lagan. The food freshly prepared. A good place for Sunday brunch.
