As part of a large group it is often difficult to find somewhere to dine in the run up to Christmas as many palettes can be difficult to satisfy unless there is turkey on the menu. This doesn't bother me as it was the option I selected (begrudgingly as it was the best described dish and when it is a requirement that you pre-order one month in advance you don't want to try and enquire as to the other options).
Then once the awkward upfront payments had been sorted and we seemingly adhered to the ridiculous dresscode the night arrived and automatically the tone was a bad one. We were greeted by a hostile doorman, were not even shown to our table, no waiting staff seemed to be around there was no wine list at the table. When the wine was ordered I was charged for the wrong one.
Out of nowhere the food began to arrive despite no one having confirmed our order. The service was swift and impersonal. I actually ended up with indigestion from the haste of it.
The room was carpetted and the furniture large and awkward to maneuver making it almost impossible to leave the table without falling over. The light fittings were largely vandalised too.
The overall atmosphere bizarre as 10 metres from the dining area is the dancefloor complete with a full DJ set and the room was very warm and uncomfortable to dine in.
For the money we paid there were certainly better options in the same price bracket; I doubt I would ever return to the venue for any purpose.
