“Very good stay.....staff excellent”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

Stayed here for one night wheil visiting Belfast for some Christmas shopping. Left bags in hotel early before roooms were ready. The staff were very efficient made the check in very easy. They also gave us some advice of where to visit etc and also for entertaimnet that evening. Perfect hosts!

We didn't eat in the hotel but the drinks offer (pints for £2.50 and half price cocktails £3) was exccellent. Talked to another guest who said the food was very good. Must try it on our next visit.

the location of this hotel is great as near alot of restaurants and bars. the rooms are clean and basic.however, on the night i stayed there was a coach load of noisy drunk young ones staying also, the doors were paper thin and you could hear EVERYTHING outside your room, from about 1-4am there was constant noise from the drunks shouting and screaming outside my door as one of their friends was in the room opposite us, the hotel staff came up at one stage to get them to quieten down but it didnt make much difference. i understand that hotels cant control who stays at the hotel but surely they should be able to control what happens inside the hotel, the staffs inability to control their guests runined our stay. on top of this we also had a very LOUD noise coming from our bathroom which sounded like the fan was about to break down, this went on all night, stopping and starting every half an hour and lasting about 15 minutes, so it was a very unpleasent stay and we got very little sleep.

I have read several poor reviews of the customer service at this hotel, however feel that I must post the positive experience which I had today when phoning to ask questions about the hotel, location, closest train station, cost and variety of breakfast. I was greeted on the phone in a most cheerful, friendly manner and the receptionist couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and I was assured that the hotel would do their best to fulfil my request for high floor. I was even advised about the half price cocktails and recommended to try the strawberry daquiri. I will post a review again following my visit next week.

The rooms are basic. No wardrobes just wall hooks. awful red plastic uncomfortble furniture. No rooms with a bath. They advertise Executive Rooms at about £25 above the normal rate this includes free wifi. Well these Executive Rooms are the standard rooms with basket containing soap, shampoo, coke, Pringles and a bathrobe. The free wifi is only if you have a connecting lead Ethernet with you! Otherwise you get 30mins of slow wifi in the lobby.
The hot breakfast buffet is adequate if you like your eggs, bacon, sausages etc floating a sea of fat.
The coffee from the machine has never seen a coffee bean.
The staff are happy to chat to each other but seem to be unable to communicate with the customers!
To phone to reception from the room, the only way is to use a mobile and call in.
The hotel is close to the city centre on a main road, so it is impossible to sleep with the window open.
Overpriced

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back and 4th floor and below. Close the bathroom door as the bathroom air supp...

This has most of what you need in a business hotel. The room was spotless, the bed really comfortable, the heat level just right and there was virtually no noise. The location is really good too, so where's the but...?
well the receptionist seemed more interested in talking to her fiends than checking us in and seemed to have little knowledge of the location or local restaurants. Additionally, the buffet breakfast was adequate; there was a good selection but the cooked offering was not great quality and just luke warm, which was a shame.
Overall, I'd stay again as the price was really competitive and the location made up for the shortcomings.

I stayed here for a 30th birthday party recently as it was very well located in the city centre.Overall I was very disappointed with the hotel, most particularly the service from the staff.Despite booking 12 rooms in the hotel, the staff were most unaccomodating, rude and downright ignorant most of the time.

As someone who stays in hotels regularly I would not advise anyone to book here and I certainly will be telling my friends of this terrible experieince.

Stayed for 3 nights as part of a package tour. It is a very good modern hotel in a good location. It is the cathedral quarter. The rooms are spacious, with a good sized bathroom. The room was very clean and was in good condition. The breakfast is very good, a mixture of hot and cold food. Though the menu at the hotel restaurant is not big, the food is excellent. The bar is always busy and has a happy hour. The seating area is very comfortable, mostly with booths. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

There are also lots of very good restaurants and pubs close by. The Made in Belfast restaurant and the pubs Duke of York and John Hewitt are very good. Make sure you have a meal at the Crown pub, the food is very good. Go to the Belfast City Hall for one of their free tours (Monday to Friday - 11am, 2pm and 3pm and Saturday - 2pm and 3pm), it is very good. The Bobbin coffee shop in the the City Hall is excellent. Go on the Belfast Ghost Walk, it goes from outside the City Hall daily at 19:30. It was very well done, our guide made the most of the stories. The Titanic Belfast Experience is a must, especially this year with the centenary. If you can, go to the giants causeway it is well worth a day trip out.
