A group of friends and myself were planning to go the the cinema to see Lincoln last night and got together at Ginger Bistro for a pre-theatre meal which was good.
There was a varied menu with lots of fish dishes, chicken and meat - the food was well presented and tasted delicious. For starters a couple of us had mussels, others duck breast salad which were well received, for mains three had steak which was tender and cooked to perfection, some had various fish including plaice and sea bass and others had chicken, all came with some sides. For desserts we tried the Creme Brule and Sticky Toffee Pudding which were home made and very tasty. Overall, it was a good choice as it was near the cinema and busy with plenty of people in and lots of chat and banter.

A delightful spot with a good atmosphere which is well worth a visit!

Delicious food coupled with exceptional service. We decided to go into Belfast for dinner following the "Backing Belfast"/"Take Back the City" campaign. We didn't have a reservation and despite the restaurant being busy, we were given a warm welcome. The staff were all genuine, warm and friendly and extremely attentive (without being overbearing).

We shared the squid starter (which was scrumptious!); had a perfectly cooked steak each (which came with pepper sauce, spinach, a bowl of chunky wedge style chips and 3 large onion rings), followed by the chocolate cake dessert (which was devine and not too rich or heavy) and coffees. I had wine and my husband had a soft drink and the bill was just under £70. The steak was £22, but the sides were included, so there was no need to order anything additional.

Sometimes it is the little things and details that are difficult to pinpoint which make a place special... The genuine warm welcome, automatically offering a jug of water for the table, offering extra lime when a tonic and fresh lime was ordered, replacing the tea light on the table when it went out, offering suggestions... The staff gave the impression of being very experienced and enjoying what they were doing!

We will definately be returning! :)

Family dinner at Ginger to celebrate Mum's 80th birthday: We were seated at a circular table which made conversation easy. Service was excellent - attentive and friendly. Great range of beers available and a competitive wine list. We had steaks, whole lemon sole, pork belly and one vegetarian dish. All were of high quality. Excellent desserts to follow. About £40 per head including drinks and service, which we thought was good value.

I hadn't been to Ginger for ages, in these times of austerity, so we went back for a pre-theatre menu last week. I found that Ginger has kept the standards up. My dining partner had the most delicious aged steak, which was meltingly good with a black pepper butter and jus. The accompanying chips were the best ever!

I had smoked haddock with a casserole of potato, crayfish and fresh peas. Delicious comfort food. We had a good spanish Grenache to drink (£16), and a big jug of water with lemon and lime slices.

It is hard to leave Ginger, and I reminded myself not to leave it too long to the next visit. .
