Ate at Berts on Wed 26 March. Meal was just ok. Basically chicken chips and mushy peas. Didn't taste any different to what I got at school many years ago. Portions very small. Wine waiter and female server excellent. Others obviously bored and wanted to be elsewhere. It seemed like somewhere trying to give the promise of something special without making any effort to do so. The jazz band was ruined by the singer. We felt sorry for his bandmates. He looked like a homeless man with his filthy shoes and Oxfam clothes and was texting in the middle of the songs. Won't rush back.

I had time to kill one lunch time and went in to try some cocktails. I was met by a violin and piano playing along with a plate of olives and other things to nibble on. Honestly great service which would be expected. The drinks matched the quality and elegance of the place. The cocktail menu is amazing, take time and go through it all, trust me you do not want to miss anything!!

Had brunch on Sunday 9th March - superb! Started with Bloody Mary's and selected Eggs Benedict to follow- FABULOUS!!! Quiet but friendly atmosphere made the visit really excellent. This is a great way to spend a Sunday and excellent value for money.
