“Good place to stay”
Reviewed August 31, 2011

My stay here was good.
However when i turned up, the key was just sitting under a mat. When i got up to the apartment the door was lying open already which meant anyone could have been in it.

Had a problem with the kitchen as the door knob did not work, so i was not able to get in to the kitchen, however contacted staff and they came and fixed it straight away and apologised for the inconvenience.

Staff were easy to contact and got back to me very quickly if they missed my call.

Overall the apartment was lovely, although parts of it looked a little worn.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was in a nice, quiet location.

view of the beautiful big tree from the window at the front created a lovely leafy atmosphere in the apartment!...also lovely cotton bedlinen and romantice little touches here and there...the oven worked well and the kitchen was well stocked and we cooked a lovely meal..the shops on the Lisburn road very handy indeed

Downside ( we were only there for 1 night) but very noisy ' neighbours' and doors banging at some ungodly hour like 2-3 am which spoilt things really. Too late to ring and disturb Ben so we just waited till they finally stopped. To be honest this would put me off coming again even though everything else very nice.

Lovely accommodation, with all you need to self cater and relax. This is a lovely house to stay in with a real sense of stories and history. Comfortable beds, free wi fi if needed.
good powerful shower. Very relaxing to stay here. Cost of taxi to city centre under 5 pounds.
Really helpful staff/owner who was readily available.

Just back from a weekend trip in Belfast with my family before the onset of school. We stayed in the two bedroom ground floor apartment. We had a lovely welcome from Ben when we arrived. When he showed us around the apartment, I have to say we were immediately disappointed. There was a musty damp smell prevalant throughout the apartment, especially in the master bedroom and ensuite.

On a positive note, the apartment was very spacious and in a nice enough area of Belfast. Whoever took the photos for the apartments website is an excellent photographer, as in reality they certainly do not match up. The furniture is a mismash of old worn pieces. There are knobs fallen off drawers, cracked and broken tiles in the bathroom. The carpet is dirty and stained. There are damp mouldy patches on the ceiling. In general if the heating is not on there is a cold damp air throughout. I certainly would not like to be staying in the winter.

The sound-proofing between floors is awful. We could hear people walking around constantly and full conversations. All in all it has put me off staying in a city apartment as opposed to a hotel again. Very disappointed with our stay!

Room Tip: To minimise noise, ask for a top floor.

I stayed at the Victoria Aps for just one night this week and cannot say enough great things about it!

From the minute you arrive you are greeted by a smiling face (Ben) who couldn't help anymore if he tried.

Beautiful tree lined quiet avenue, secure "Free" off road parking, huge apartment, very clean, everything you need from a microwave/washing machine/cooker/fridge-freezer/massive living room with sash windows/high ceilings/50" flat screen tv/dvd player/great bed/bedroom and a nice bathroom. Oh and FREE Wifi!

You could live here!

My only grumble (which I mentioned to Ben on leaving) would be more power/pressure on the shower. But this is just my niggle, I wouldn't be put off stopping again by this.

Really enjoyed my stay and have already told at least 5 friends who stay in Belfast on a regular basis plus my customers who always have friends over and need a good clean place to stay rather than the usual Jurys/Hilton/Ramada etc.

This is a brilliant alternative to to the usual sterile hotels, that usually have no soul or personality.......................

Can't recommend this place enough!

Room Tip: I stayed in room 3, front of house view of tree lined road

What did I like? Everything! Ben checked us in, gave us a complete tour of our apartment, and then came back later with maps and a complete rundown of Belfast's offerings. It was clear he loved the city, and he gave us loads of good info. We chose the Folk and Transport Museum and had a great time. The apartments are massive. We are a large family, and we have stayed in self-catered apartments all over the UK. This was the largest and comfortably accommodated our party of 4 adults and 4 young kids. There was a hallway bathroom plus and the master bedroom was en suite. The kitchen was well appointed - plenty of dishes for us and a kitchen table. The living room had large couches and a large dining room table. Ben also directed us to the wide array of grocery and dining options within a short walk. Lots of choices, and in the end we opted for take away so we could just relax in the apartment. It was truly a home away from home, and we look forward to a return trip!
