“Great hotel and location”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

We have stayed here quite a few times and it never disappoints us. Large hotel , rooms are modern well catered for clean, tidy and quiet. The food in the restaurant is lovely and the breakfast is well served with hot buffet or continental , plenty of choice. Staff are courteous and welcoming. The bar is very popular not only with hotel guests but with locals too. Good atmosphere. Location is ideal easy access for the M4 Motorway and great base to stay if you want to walk into swansea city centre to shop or drive and explore the Mumbles, langland, and Gower, great location right by the SA1 marina .. Lovely walk in the evening wondering around the marinas and along the beach. Don't forget to take your swim wear, if you fancy a dip, the hotel has a pool too.

Room Tip: sign up on their website for special 2 or 3 night stay offers.

A very busy hotel day in day out with a large variety of customers, because of this the rooms are tired and in some places shabby, never a time to decorate or refurbish, the owners De Vere would rather use all the rooms for business people Monday to Friday and then have the weekend breakers. There is a large well maintained swimming pool and the main public area's are clean and tidy. The breakfast which is buffet style could not be faulted, but if you want more from your stay in the Swansea and Gower area look beyond this hotel as it is only average and there are better independent b&b's around offering better service and quality for far less money.

Only stayed here for one night... they were really busy, but still all the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Only thing we didn't like was that the reception and bar were both very noisy with music and entertainments. Do reception areas really need loud music.

Room was very large and spotlessly clean.

Room Tip: Even numbers face the port and the sea. Room 300 is as far away from the lift as it's possible t...

I arrived late after a 6 hour straight drive and arrived at 10pm. Waited a good 12 mins to be checked in. I asked if room service could send up a sandwich only to be told it all stopped at 10pm. Nothing. Oh except numbers for local 'takeaways'. Poor.

The room way again shabby and in desperate need of a good clean. There were so many stains on floor, walls, chairs I gave up taking pictures.

The bathroom had those pump soap dispensers you find in public toilets. Poor! Even mould on tiles.

The breakfast was chaotic. Waited 30 mins for coffee which never arrived, despite asking twice. Breakfast average. No fruit except out of a tin.

Really disappointing.

Spent one night over the weekend at this hotel. Plenty of free car parking on arrival and reception staff were excellent. We were on the forth floor, which are apparently better rooms. Our room had a king size bed which was really comfortable. It was clean and quite well maintained (the door to the bathroom was split at the bottom, but wasn't a problem). We used the swimming pool which. is large, clean and well maintained. They also have a fitness room which we didn't use. We ate, with friends in the restaurant and had an excellent well priced meal. Breakfast the next morning was good. Plenty of fruit salad, cereals etc but the hot buffet was a bit overwhelmed as which choose to eat at probably peak time. However it was good produce and tasty. For a short break in swansea/ the gower it would be a good choice.

Room Tip: Top two floors are apparently better???

Whilst this is a good hotel, I arrived after 10 pm to find no food; no room service; no vending machine. The receptionist tried to be helpful by suggesting I could use the internet to book a take away for delivery. I decide to comment on this by e-mail to Customer service - the only result of this was being added to an e-mail list. I will stay there again, but make prior plans if arriving after 10 pm.
